Samsung has launched a live beta test of its new payments service on a limited scale in South Korea, Samsung Pay will be put through this beta test for 36 days as the company gears up to launch the service in the near future. Samsung Card will be recruiting beta testers for the service until tomorrow after which the testers will be able to experience the service at many major Samsung Card member stores from July 15 to August 20.
The card company is going to award 10,000 points to beta testers who spend more than 50,000 won using Samsung Pay, the company will also conduct a special event through which it will offer up to 50,000 points to beta testers who use the service frequently throughout the beta test period. Samsung has already confirmed that South Korea and United States will be the launch markets for Samsung Pay before it’s expanded to other countries, the company is aiming for a September launch of its payments service in both markets.
