The Galaxy S7 will automatically flag spam, scammers and cold callers

All of us have to deal with spam texts and unwanted calls from cold callers, not to mention the fact that there are scammers out there who try to trick people by calling them about fraudulent schemes and what not. You won’t have to worry about that anymore if you get the Galaxy S7 or the Galaxy S7 edge. Samsung has teamed up with Whitepages to keep spam, cold callers and scammers at bay. Whitepages is a company based in the United States that offers spam detection and caller ID features. Its service is built right into the new flagship handsets from Samsung.

Since it provides caller ID as well you can easily find out at a glance if the call you’re receiving from an unknown number is actually from a local business that you might be interested in or from a reputable company. If an unprompted call is likely to be a scam it will be flagged and displayed as such when it rings on the phone. Same goes for text messages and users have the ability to report and block numbers that they want to keep at bay.

Whitepages has operated primarily in the United States but it’s going global with the Galaxy S7, the functionality will be baked into the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge for customers in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Philippines, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
