Oculus brings virtual reality documentary Nomad to the Gear VR

Samsung and Oculus are working together to bring more virtual reality content for Gear VR owners. Hitman Go was announced for the Gear VR yesterday, and now Nomads, a virtual reality documentary, is available to be viewed on Samsung’s virtual reality headset.

Nomads, which is created by Montreal-based VR studio Felix & Paul, takes viewers through lives of people in three different parts of the world: Mongolian steppes with a group of yak herders, the Maasai tribe in Kenya, and Borneo’s Bajau tribe in the Malay Archipelago. There are three 12-minute long chapters, which were already screened at Sundance and Tribeca film festivals.

Oculus said that one million people used the Gear VR last month, and we know that virtual reality is picking up steam. Nomad looks like the first sincere attempt at making virtual reality documentary. Samsung had also released a virtual reality video series GONE along with behind the scenes video clips.
