Samsung launches the Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) in India

Samsung has launched its latest mid-range smartphones, the Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016), in India today. The Galaxy J5 (2016) is priced at INR 13,990 while the Galaxy J7 (2016) is priced at INR 15,990. Both these devices feature Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and will be available exclusively through online retailer Flipkart starting today (midnight).

The Galaxy J5 (2016) features a 5.2-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB RAM, and a 3,100 mAh battery. Interestingly, the Galaxy J7 (2016) variant that was launched in India earlier today comes with a 5.5-inch 720p Super AMOLED display and 2GB RAM instead of a 1080p display and 3GB RAM. The device is powered by an Exynos 7870 processor and packs in a 3,300 mAh battery. Both devices have 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, dual-SIM connectivity with LTE, and dual-band Wi-Fi b/g/n.

In the imaging department, the Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) offer a 13-megapixel primary camera with ƒ/1.9 aperture and LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with ƒ/1.9 aperture and front-facing LED flash. Both devices feature NFC chips and come with the S Bike Mode, which was first launched with the Galaxy J3 (2016) in India. Samsung is also offering double data offer through Airtel along with the Ultra Data Saving (UDS) mode powered by Opera Max.
