Galaxy Note 7 pre-orders rumored to open at T-Mobile next week ahead of August 2 release

Samsung has already confirmed that it’s going to unveil the Galaxy Note 7 on August 2 but the company is yet to say anything about pricing and availability. Some reports claim that it’s likely Samsung could release the handset on the very same day it’s unveiled but there’s no conclusive evidence to support that theory.

Someone reached out to us with information about the availability of the Galaxy Note 7 on one of the four major carriers in the United States. The person has claimed that the Galaxy Note 7 pre-orders will open at T-Mobile at some point in the coming week and that it’s going to be released by T-Mobile on August 2, which is they day Samsung unveils the new flagship in New York. Samsung is claimed to have confirmed the release date to T-Mobile just a few days ago. Since all of this is unconfirmed at this point in time I would suggest that you take this information with more than the proverbial grain of salt. If Samsung is going to release the Galaxy Note 7 in the US on August 2 then we should see all four major carriers start taking pre-orders for the handset next week because it would be highly unlikely for the company to offer that level of exclusivity to the third largest mobile carrier in the country.

It merits mentioning here that when Samsung sent out the press invites for its latest unveiling it explicitly mentioned that we’ll be seeing the Galaxy Note 7 and also provided a detailed justification of why it’s going to be called the Galaxy Note 7 and not the Galaxy Note 6 without offering us a single glimpse of the handset. Could carriers be told to start taking pre-orders for the handset sight unseen? It might happen but I wouldn’t count on it until there was more evidence.
