Hiya powers caller ID and spam detection in the Galaxy Note 7′s dialer app

Samsung included caller ID and spam detection functionality in the Galaxy S7′s dialer app and it’s doing the same for the Galaxy Note 7. Hiya, a leading provider of this service, is going to power caller ID, spam detection and business search services in the new flagship’s dialer app. Hiya tracks more than 1.5 billion numbers globally so it’s able to provide a discreet experience and help owners identify unknown callers to protect them against phone spam and scams.

Hiya is currently providing this service for the Galaxy S7 in 16 countries across the globe and support is now being expanded to an additional 12 countries. The improved experience will be offered to both Galaxy S7 and Galaxy Note 7 customers. Instant caller ID will help users easily make a decision about whether or not they want to pick up a call from an unknown number. It will also feature a spam button which lets users report spam numbers. Hiya features a global database of local business information as well all of which is accessible through the handset’s stock dialer app. All Galaxy Note 7 variants in supported countries other than the United States will have Hiya in the stock dialer app but in the United States this useful functionality is limited to the T-Mobile variant.

Supported countries include Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States.
