Original Galaxy A7 gets February security patch

Samsung has now started rolling out the February security patch for the original Galaxy A7, the handset that it launched back in 2015. The Galaxy A series has done well for Samsung and the company has really improved it over the past few years. The latest Galaxy A (2017) series really feels as if it has the same premium DNA as the company’s flagship devices but at a lower price point.

The company has now started rolling out firmware version A700FXXU2BQB1 for the original Galaxy A7 in Netherlands. It may only be a matter of time before the update goes live in other markets as well. The top-of-the-line handset in Samsung’s Galaxy A series only made its way to Europe properly in 2015 as the company later decided that it wasn’t going to make it available widely across Europe in the 2016 and 2017 iterations.

The over-the-air update is rolling out now for those who own the original Galaxy A7 handset. It’s also available for download via our firmware section. It may take a while before it goes live across all regions. Since it’s a minor update, users shouldn’t expect much in the way of new features.
