Galaxy S8 Active spotted in a User Agent String

It would appear that Samsung is working on a ruggedized variant of the Galaxy S8 after all. Earlier today, a handset bearing the model number SM-G892A, which we believe to be the AT&T-branded variant of the Galaxy S8 Active, was spotted in a User Agent String.

Sadly, we don’t know a great deal about the Galaxy S8 Active, other than that it’s codenamed Cruiser. MIL-STD-810G standard compliance, in addition to IP68 certification, is pretty much a given, but it’s unclear whether it’ll sport the same internals as the recently-launched Galaxy S8.

For those in need of a refresher, the Galaxy S8 packs a 5.8-inch display, an Exynos 8895/Snapdragon 835 processor, a 12MP rear-facing camera, an 8MP selfie camera and a 3,000mAh battery. The Galaxy S8+, on the other hand, features identical specifications, though it has a larger 6.2-inch panel and a 3,500mAh cell.

Typically, AT&T takes the wraps off its Active handsets in June — so we may have to wait a little while before the Galaxy S8 Active finally hits the shelves.
