Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo beta license indicates impending launch

The Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ is in the pipeline. Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo beta in the near future. The license agreement for the upcoming Galaxy Beta Program has now gone live which suggests that the launch isn’t that far off.

Samsung is yet to confirm when it’s going to launch the Galaxy S8 beta program, though. Previous reports have suggested that the beta might be launched in the United States on October 31.

Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo Beta

It was reported yesterday that the Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo beta is going to be launched in North America, South Korea and the United Kingdom in the first phone. Samsung will later roll out the beta in China, Spain, Germany, Poland, France and India in the second phase.

Those who want to take part in the beta will have to sign up for it through the Samsung Members app. The beta registrations haven’t gone live as yet. However, links to the End User Licensing Agreement and the Galaxy Beta Program FAQ have now been spotted in the app.

The licensing agreement confirms that the upcoming Galaxy Beta Program is meant to distribute pre-release Android 8.0 Oreo firmware for “testing and evaluation purposes” only.

The FAQ reiterates a previous report that the beta will only be offered for T-Mobile, Sprint and unlocked variants of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in the United States.

Hit the source links below to read both the FAQ and the EULA. It’s likely that we’ll soon see an official announcement about the Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo beta from Samsung.
