Samsung Odyssey headset will be released in South Korea on November 21

Samsung’s first Windows Mixed Reality headset was launched last month. The Samsung Odyssey headset requires a compatible Windows 10-powered PC to function. The company started taking pre-orders for the headset in the US last month and released it a few days back.

The company has now confirmed when the headset is going to be released in its home country of South Korea. Customers in the country will be able to pick up a Samsung Odyssey headset starting November 21.

Customers in South Korea will be able to try the Samsung Odyssey headset and purchase it from 40 major shopping venues. The headset will also be available from Samsung Digital Plazas which is the company’s own local retail brand.

The headset features dual 3.5-inch AMOLED panels and offers a combined resolution of 2880×1600. That gives the Odyssey a major advantage over its competitors as they only offer 1440×1440 resolution.

It supports inside-out position tracking with a Six Degrees of Freedom sensor. Odyssey users will not be restricted to a limited space during their VR experience. It supports up to 110-degree field of view and up to 90Hz refresh rate. AKG headphones are integrated into the headset with 360-degree Spatial Sound.

Samsung is selling the Odyssey headset for 790,000 won or $700 in South Korea.
