Galaxy Fit launched in the US, Fit e misses the cut

Samsung has officially released the Galaxy Fit in the US. The newest Samsung fitness tracker went on sale in several other countries earlier this month alongside its cheaper sibling, the Galaxy Fit e. Apparently, Samsung has no plans to launch the latter in the American market. Both devices were announced back in February.

Galaxy Fit features and price

It’s been a while since Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Fit. So, in case you need a recap, it features a 0.95-inch full-color AMOLED display with a resolution of 120 x 240 pixels. It has a 120mAh battery, capable of powering the package for up to seven days on normal usage. The device runs on Samsung’s new Realtime OS and comes with MIL-STD-810G military-grade ruggedness certification. It has a 5 ATM rating for water resistance. Sensors on board include a heart rate sensor, gyroscope and an accelerometer.

In terms of features, you get automatic motion detection for tracking activities like walking, running, cycling, rowing and other dynamic workouts. The device is also capable of monitoring your sleep cycle and stress levels. The Galaxy Fit supports notifications from your connected smartphone, with options to respond via some preset responses.

Samsung has priced the Galaxy Fit at $99.99 in the US. It is available in black and silver from Samsung’s website and other authorized retailers across the country. Look forward for our review to know more about its functional capabilities, accuracy, battery life, and much more.
