Galaxy M20 Android 10 update rolling out in Europe

While it was great to see Samsung start beta testing Android 10 for its flagship smartphones earlier than we expected, what was more impressive is how the company rolled out the update to two of its budget phones in record time. The Galaxy M20 and Galaxy M30 were updated to Android 10 and One UI 2.0 in India before the Galaxy Note 10, and now, Samsung has brought the latest version of the OS to the Galaxy M20 in Europe.

Unfortunately, the update brings only the bare minimum of what Samsung has to offer with One UI 2.0, which is why it calls the update for the M20 and M30 a “One UI Core 2 upgrade“. Features like the built-in screen recorder haven’t made the cut, but the update does include all the One UI 2.0 user interface improvements and also the features that are part and parcel of Android 10, such as Google’s navigation gestures, more granular location and privacy controls, improved Digital Wellbeing with Focus mode, and more.

Android 10 is rolling out to Galaxy M20 owners in Germany, Luxembourg, and Greece as we write this. It should also be rolling out to other European markets in the coming days. If you own the device, you can update it over the air from the Settings » Software update menu. You can also download Android 10 firmware from our firmware archive and install it on your Galaxy M20 using a Windows computer to manually upgrade to Android 10 and One UI 2.0.
