Galaxy S20, Galaxy Z Flip support cross-platform copy and paste with Windows 10

Microsoft and Samsung’s collaborations are deepening with each passing day. Yesterday, it was announced that the companies had worked together to bring RCS messages to Windows 10 via the Your Phone app and the Galaxy S20. Now, the Redmond-based company has mentioned that Samsung’s new flagship smartphones support cross-platform copy and paste with Windows 10.

The Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra, and the Galaxy Z Flip now support cross-device copy and paste on computers running the Windows 10 operating system. The feature works when the Your Phone app is installed on the PC and is paired with any of the mentioned smartphones from Samsung. You’ll need to turn on the Cross-Device Copy and Paste feature from the Settings menu of the Your Phone app.

This functionality supports both text and images, and you can continue using the same copy and paste shortcuts that you currently use on the phone as well as the PC. However, larger-sized images will be downscaled to 1MB in size. Moreover, if you enable the Sync Over Mobile Data feature in the Your Phone app on your smartphone, copying and pasting images will consume a significant amount of your cellular data.

Over the past few years, Microsoft and Samsung have collaborated closely to bring a lot of features such as OneDrive integration in the Gallery app, S Pen support in the Outlook app, xCloud gaming on Samsung phones, and the recently announced Forza Street game for the South Korean brand’s smartphones.
