Galaxy A40 Android 10 update reportedly starts rolling out

Samsung is on a roll with Android 10 updates over the past three months. It has released the One UI 2.0 update to a bunch of smartphones in the Galaxy M series, Galaxy A series, Galaxy S series, and the Galaxy Note series. Today, the company has reportedly rolled out the Android 10 update to the Galaxy A40 in Italy.

The Android 10 update, with firmware version A405FNXXU3BTB8 and file size of 1698.94MB, brings One UI 2.0 to the Galaxy A40. It also comes with the March 2020 Android security patch. It is being reported that the update is only available on Vodafone’s network as of now. We had reported three months ago that Samsung had started Android 10 development for the Galaxy A40 and the Galaxy A50.

The update brings the usual bells and whistles that we’ve seen with One UI 2.0 on other Samsung smartphones in the past. There’s a new Dark Mode with darkened wallpapers and text. There are new UI navigation gestures, smoother animations, new emojis, a refreshed UI and tweaked icons, a more refined permissions manager, Digital Wellbeing, and more.

If you are a Galaxy A40 user in Italy, you can check for the Android 10 OTA (over the air) software update for your smartphone by heading to Settings » Software Update and then tapping Download and install. Since this is a major update, we recommend backing up important data on your phone and using a Wi-Fi network to download the update.
