It has been reported for the past few months that the future of the Galaxy Note series is uncertain. Samsung’s decision to add S Pen support to the Galaxy S21 Ultra is believed to be a major indication in itself. The company may also bring the S Pen to the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
With Samsung’s high-end lineup crowded as it is, something has to change. That change would be something not many Samsung fans might like. We can reveal that Samsung isn’t planning to launch a new Galaxy Note flagship in 2021.
Samsung’s product lineup for 2021 doesn’t include a Galaxy Note
Samsung said earlier today that it’s not going to abandon the Galaxy Note series. “Their launch timing may be different, but we will make sure that we don’t let Galaxy Note consumers down,” said DJ Koh, the co-CEO of Samsung’s mobile division.
The company has essentially confirmed that while there won’t be a new Galaxy Note flagship this year, it’s not killing off the lineup yet. It wants fans to keep the faith for next year, that a new Galaxy Note would be launched in 2022.
It wouldn’t be wise to predict what Samsung may or may not do in a year from now. The fact remains. Those who would like a stylus-equipped flagship this year would have to make do with the Galaxy S21 Ultra and possibly the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
From what we hear, the new Galaxy A models are slated to launch in Q2 2021. The event later today is meant entirely for the new mid-range models. Samsung will be launching the Galaxy Z Flip 2 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 in Q3 along with the new Wear OS smartwatches. The Galaxy S21 FE will be launched in Q4.
That’s basically what Samsung’s product lineup looks like for the rest of the year. We may see some new Galaxy M or other low-end phones thrown into the mix. A new Galaxy Note flagship won’t be coming, though.
