Galaxy S10 series joins newer flagships at November security update party

The November 2021 security patch has been rolling out to more Galaxy S devices in reverse order of their release. The Galaxy S21 series was the first to get the update last week, followed by the Galaxy S20 series, and now the Galaxy S10.

Samsung is distributing the new firmware update in South Korea. It’s available for the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10 5G and carries firmware version G97xNKSS7FUJ2. As we already established, this new update includes the November 2021 security patch, but as of this writing Samsung hasn’t published a changelog. It should soon, so stay tuned.

The update shouldn’t bring any other features, changes, or improvements aside from a newer security patch.

The rollout began in South Korea, but in theory, it should reach the Galaxy S10 series in more markets any moment now. You can check for new updates from inside the Settings app on your phone by accessing the Software update menu. Alternatively, you can download the update on a PC from our firmware section and install it manually on your phone.

Beyond these regular security patches, the Galaxy S10 series is technically eligible for Android 12, so you can look forward to more features once that update eventually rolls out. As of now, the One UI 4.0 update is in beta, but Samsung expects to release the first live update by the end of 2021. That is, for the Galaxy S21 series. The Galaxy S10, on the other hand, will most likely get Android 12 with One UI 4.0 next year and a bunch more security patches before then.
