The Galaxy C series might not be that cheap after all

We know that Samsung will launch its new C series smartphones in the coming week. Specifications and pricing for the Galaxy C5 and the Galaxy C7 have already been leaked multiple times but a new report out of China today suggests that these handsets may not be that cheap after all. Both smartphones are fashioned out of metal and will be launched in China only, at least initially.

The report suggests that the Galaxy C5 will cost 2199 CNY ($335) and the Galaxy C7 will be priced at CNY ($337) when they go on sale in the coming week. It was previously rumored that the Galaxy C5 and the Galaxy C7 will have price tags of 1599 CNY ($245) and 1799 CNY ($276) respectively. No other changes have been mentioned in the report today so we’re still looking at a 5.7-inch and 5.2-inch 1080p display for the Galaxy C7 and the Galaxy C5, with both having a 64-bit Snapdragon 617 processor, 4GB RAM, 16-megapixel rear and 8-megapixel front camera, 32/64GB internal storage, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The report does mention that in order to make them more appealing, Samsung has kitted the devices with a fingerprint sensor that does much more than just provide access control to users. Samsung is expected to launch the C series handsets on May 26.
