Those with Samsung’s elegant The Frame TV are in for a treat: the firm has added a number of new works to the Samsung Art Store, plucked straight out of London’s Royal Collection — including Franz Xaver Winterhalter’s The Royal Family in 1846 and Rembrandt’s The Shipbuilder and his Wife.
Here are some of the highlights:
- Madonna and Child in a Landscape with Tobias and the Angel — Titian
- The Five Eldest Children of Charles I — Anthony van Dyck
- The Royal Family in 1846 — Franz Xaver Winterhalter
- The Shipbuilder and his Wife — Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn
- Venice: The Molo with the Prisons and the Doges’ Palace — Antonio Visentini Canaletto
The Samsung Art Store is home to more than 1000 pieces of high-end traditional and contemporary art, curated by several international organizations, like the Tate Gallery and V&A. The Frame owners can subscribe for £3.99 ($4.99) per month for unlimited access to the entire collection.
But why would they need to? Well, The Frame is a rather unique device in the sense that it looks near-identical to a framed canvas; and thus is capable of effortlessly blending into the background by displaying artwork when it’s not in use — making it a must-have for minimalist interior design.
