China gets the 5.5-inch Samsung Galaxy E7

After announcing the Galaxy E7 for the Indian market a few weeks back, Samsung has gone on to launch the device in China, as we expected. The Galaxy E7 comprises the first batch of Galaxy E series phones, which are basically cheaper variants of the Galaxy A series. To speak specifically of the Galaxy E7, it comes with a 5.5-inch display that has an HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC which packs a 1.2GHz quad-core 64-bit CPU. Along with that, the Galaxy E7 has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage, which is of course expandable via microSD.

A 2,950mAh battery powers the aforementioned internals, which also include a 13 mega-pixel camera on the rear of the phone, and a 5 mega-pixel sensor on the front of it. In China, the phone will be available for 2100 CNY or roughly US$336.

Samsung Galaxy J1 goes live in the Indian market for 7,190 INR

As we reported previously, Samsung went ahead and launched the entry-level Galaxy J1 smartphone in the Indian market today. The phone is available for purchase via Amazon India for 7,190 INR, which translates to about US$115. To make the offer look better, Samsung and Amazon also offer 500MB of 2G/3G data worth 600 INR per month for six months for subscribers of Aircel and Reliance, along with content worth 1400 INR from StarSports.com. The phone itself comes with a 4.3-inch 800 x 480 pixel WVGA display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 512MB RAM besides a 5 mega-pixel rear camera, 2 mega-pixel front camera and an 1850mAh battery.

The Galaxy J1 can be had in Black, White and Blue color variants. It’ll go against similarly priced devices in the Indian market, which include the Xiaomi Redmi 1S and the Android One series, and just like the ones mentioned here, will be available online-only (at least for now) at Amazon India.
