You may be able to launch Galaxy S8 camera by pressing the power button twice

If you’ve been using Samsung smartphones for the past few years you may have become accustomed to pressing the home button twice in order to launch the camera quickly. However, now that we know that the Galaxy S8 isn’t going to have a physical home button\, how will we go about launching the camera without having to unlock the handset first and then having to find the app?

An image of the Settings app open on a Galaxy S8 Plus has appeared online and in the “Advanced Functions” menu there’s an option which reads “Quick Launch para Cámara.” The entire text is in Spanish but if you run a quick translation in Google Translate this is what you get: “Open the camera by pressing the power key twice in a quick succession.”

So if the information obtained from this leaked image is to be believed, if you want to quick launch the camera on the Galaxy S8 or the Galaxy S8 Plus, you have the option to configure the power button to do so when it’s pressed twice in quick succession.

Samsung is due to unveil its new flagship smartphone next week on March 29.

Galaxy S8 Over the Horizon ringtone created in collaboration with Jacob Collier

Samsung refreshes its signature six-note Over the Horizon ringtone with each generation of its Galaxy devices and with the Galaxy S8 just around the corner, the company has revealed that to craft this year’s rendition of the ringtone it has collaborated with Grammy Award-winning artist Jacob Collier. It says that the new tune is “as unique and inventive as the devices themselves.”

Over the Horizon has been the default ringtone on Samsung’s Galaxy devices for six years and it goes without saying that it’s going to be the default Galaxy S8 ringtone as well. Jacob’s take on Over the Horizon is multifaceted as it mixes elements of contemporary jazz, pop and dance beats to create an energetic sound.

He arranged and recorded this himself and use a total of 16 different instruments like drums, bass guitar and even a cowbell to bring it all together. Samsung says that this new version of Over the Horizon is going to make its debut with the release of its new Galaxy smartphone.
