Galaxy Buds to get the same flashy new color option as the Galaxy Note 10

Samsung is all set to unveil the Galaxy Note 10 on August 7 at the Unpacked event in New York. Like it happens with most smartphones of late, numerous leaks have already revealed a lot about the upcoming device. This includes the rather flashy silver color option, rumored to be named ‘Aura Glow,’ for the Galaxy Note 10.

It now appears the Korean company is going to bring the same color choice to the Galaxy Buds as well. Samsung France has already listed the new color variant on its website, although you can’t buy it currently. The listing doesn’t mention any color name yet, but bets are on ‘Aura Glow’ to match the smartphone counterpart. The timing of the leak suggests that the company may officially release it alongside the Galaxy Note 10.

While on the topic of audio accessories, a fresh leak shows that Samsung is going to launch new wired earphones for its next flagship, as reported previously. These AKG-branded earphones will support Active Noise Cancellation and connect via USB Type-C since the Note 10 is going to ditch the headphone Jack.

As rivals started to remove the legacy audio jack from their smartphones, Samsung proudly flaunted its presence on its devices on many occasions. However, it seems even the Korean company is set to adopt the unpopular trend as more and more of its devices continue to ditch the headphone jack.

Samsung is already testing Android Q for the Galaxy S10

We’ve discovered that Samsung is already testing Android Q for the Galaxy S10 lineup. Google is yet to reveal what the Q in Android Q stands for, but the fact that Samsung is already testing it for its latest flagships shouldn’t be a major revelation. That’s because Android OEMs get access to all the code for the next major version of Android long before it gets a public release, although Samsung could learn from some of its peers and offer us beta access to the new software sooner than it has in the past.

That said, there’s hope the official Android Q release for the Galaxy S10 lineup will come quickly once the Android Q beta program kicks off. After all, Samsung didn’t take much time to bring the stable Android Pie update to the Galaxy S9 and S9+ after the first beta release had gone live, and that was despite how Pie was accompanied by one of the biggest user interface upgrades for Galaxy devices in recent years. Samsung has also been quite fast with bringing Android Pie to other Galaxy devices, so there’s a solid chance Galaxy S10 owners won’t have a long wait for Android Q, either.

We currently don’t have any information on how far along Samsung is with its progress on Android Q for the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and S10+ – all we know is that Android Q will introduce version 2.0 of One UI and the Digital Wellbeing improvements that Google has built into the tenth version of the operating system. What other features and functionality the update will include remains to be seen, but we will be sure to let you know as soon as we get more details.

Want to see more Galaxy Watch Active 2 photos? FCC has you covered

If all the leaks showing us the Galaxy Watch Active 2 in the flesh (including our very own exclusive) weren’t enough, the FCC is joining in on the fun by giving us yet another look at the upcoming smartwatch. Samsung seems to have forgotten to tell the FCC not to publish images of its upcoming products this year. The FCC also leaked live photos of the Galaxy Note 10 earlier, confirming that the device won’t have a headphone jack.

However, the FCC’s Galaxy Watch Active 2 photos do not confirm if there’s a virtual touch bezel on the smartwatch. As we had reported earlier this month, the Watch Active 2 will have what Samsung calls Touch Bezel, a software-based implementation of the intuitive rotating bezel wheel that you see on all Samsung smartwatches from the Gear S2 up until last year’s Galaxy Watch. The original Watch Active didn’t get a physical wheel, but the Korean giant is providing an alternative on the successor.

The FCC says this is the 40mm version of the Watch Active 2 (model number SM-R830), and it should have a 1.2-inch display (the 44mm version will have a 1.4-inch display). One of the photos shows 4GB of storage on the watch, which is what we see on every Samsung smartwatch. The Watch Active 2 will, however, differentiate itself with new health features, including fall detection and ECG heart rate monitoring.

The Watch Active 2 will also be the first Gear/Galaxy smartwatch with Bluetooth 5.0 support. More of the device’s specs can be found in our exclusive report from earlier this week, including battery sizes of the two models. We can expect Samsung to unveil the Galaxy Watch Active 2 alongside the Galaxy Note 10 on August 7 considering all certifications that are rearing their heads, which means the company won’t have to deal with these leaks for much longer.
