FCC trip reveals some specifications of the new Galaxy A3 and the Galaxy A5

Multiple reports and leaks have appeared online over the past couple of weeks indicating that the launch of sequels for the Galaxy A3, the Galaxy A5 and the Galaxy A7 is not that far off. Yet another major indication comes in the form of the customary FCC stop that both the Galaxy A3 and the Galaxy A5 have made, some specifications of the new handsets were also revealed in the process.

The Galaxy A3 may have a 4.7-inch HD display, a 1.5Ghz quad-core processor with 1.5GB RAM, 16GB storage, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front camera. A dual-SIM model of this handset has also made an appearance over at the FCC. The second generation Galaxy A5 is said to have a 5.2-inch full HD display, 1.6GHz Exynos 7 Octa processor with 2GB RAM and the same front and rear cameras. The FCC trip reveals that the handset will feature a 2900mAh battery which is a great improvement over the 2300mAh battery found in its predecessor. Both the Galaxy A3 and the Galaxy A5 feature a new design and will come with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop straight out of the box, they’re also believed to have fingerprint sensors and NFC which will make them compatible with Samsung Pay. The second generation Galaxy A7 may also make its FCC stop soon as it has already received its Bluetooth certification, Samsung itself has not yet confirmed when it will be launching the new A series.

Samsung Galaxy Tab E is now available through U.S. Cellular

The Galaxy Tab E is now available from U.S. Cellular in both physical locations as well as its online store. You can now get the Galaxy Tab E for just $8.75/month based on the carrier’s installment pricing or you can pay $129.99, which is the price you get for striking a two-year contract with the carrier.

The prepaid option is currently not available and this version of the tablet is also different from the one launched at Verizon in terms of tech specs. Verizon’s launch was a Galaxy Tab E with 9.6-inches, while U.S Cellular has released an 8.0-inch version. A difference can also be seen in the battery unit, which is 7,300 mAh in Verizon’s version, while it’s a 5,000 mAh one in U.S. Cellular’s version.

Other tech specs of the Galaxy Tab E include a a 5-megapixel primary shooter, a 2-megapixel selfie camera, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, and 16GB of expandable storage. The tablet also comes equipped with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box.

New ad for the Gear VR shows just how easy it is to use the headset

The consumer version of Samsung’s Gear VR headset is out now and at $99 it’s priced well within reach of the average consumer. Initial response appears to have been great as both Amazon and Best Buy have sold out of inventory right now, though it’s still possible to purchase a unit from Samsung’s website. The company has released a new ad for the Gear VR which demonstrates just how easy the headset makes it to experience content in virtual reality.

This ad is part of Samsung’s “It’s Not a Phone, It’s a Galaxy” series, even with the Gear VR it won’t miss an opportunity to take a swing at Apple. It shows how easy the process is. Just push in the headset, only the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S6 edge, the Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5 are supported, snap on the cover and you’re good to go. It really is that easy. There’s already quite a bit of content available for the Gear VR with Samsung working hard to add more. At $99 this really does make for a very interesting Christmas gift.

Samsung starts promoting Rihanna’s upcoming album

It was recently reported that Samsung would be sponsoring Rihanna’s upcoming album and tour making it one of the biggest music and marketing partnerships in recent memory. There was no formal announcement for this partnership or even a denial from either camp but there’s no need for now as it has become pretty evident that a deal has been inked as Samsung has already started promotion ANTIdiaRy, Rihannia’s new album.

The mobile-only website for this album prominently features a Samsung logo on the landing page. Video teasers for ANTIdiaRy don’t end before flashing a Samsung logo first and the company’s official US Twitter account has started pushing those teasers on social media as well. You even get to see the Galaxy Note 5 in one teaser. A release date for the album has not yet been confirmed but it’s believed that ANTIdiaRY will first be released exclusively through Jay Z’s Tidal music streaming service on November 27 before a wide release the following week. It hasn’t been confirmed just how much money Samsung is spending on this promotion but recent estimates value the deal at a whopping $25 million.

Galaxy View gets a $100 discount on Amazon

It has merely been a couple of weeks since the Galaxy View went on sale, customers in the United States can purchase it from Amazon as well as AT&T, and yet there’s already a substantial discount being offered for this movable display.
