First Galaxy S11e render leak reveals curved display and triple camera

The first unofficial CAD renders of the Galaxy S11e have been leaked online today. They follow the ones for the Galaxy S11 which were leaked yesterday. As expected, there will be more similarities between the design of the cheapest Galaxy S11 variant and the entire lineup compared to what we saw with the Galaxy S10e.

It’s pertinent to mention here that these are unofficial renders. What you end up getting next year may not look exactly like what you see right now. However, this does provide a general idea of which direction the design is headed in.

Galaxy S11e renders reveal a curved display

Samsung opted for a flat display panel on the Galaxy S10e but that appears to have been a one-off. Rumors have already suggested that the Galaxy S11e will get a dual-edge curved display like the entire Galaxy S11 lineup. That’s exactly what we see in these renders. Speaking of the display, the punch hole for the front camera will now be in the center. That’s something we saw on the Galaxy S11 renders as well.

As far as the display size is concerned, there isn’t a confirmed figure on that just yet. It could be between 6.2 and 6.3-inches if the rumors are accurate. The design changes that we highlighted in the Galaxy S11 can be seen here as well. All of the hardware buttons are now on the right side of the frame. The headphone jack is nowhere to be found.

There’s also the elephant in the room. The new L-shaped camera layout at the back which is positioned vertically. We know many fans are not excited to see Samsung give up its signature design but they’re out of luck. There’s little reason to believe now that this is something that can be reversed this late in the development cycle. It’s going to house a triple camera system which may include a 108-megapixel primary camera.

The Galaxy S11e will use the same Exynos 990/Snapdragon 865 package as the other handsets in the lineup. It’s even expected to get a 5G option. The battery size could be surprisingly large at around 3,900mAh battery.

Do you like what you see here? Is the Galaxy S11e something you would be interested in? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.

How to automate Blue light filter, Night mode, DND using Samsung One UI

Samsung Galaxy smartphone owners can generally automate various aspects of their phones, particularly in newer models that ship with Bixby Routines. But did you know that you can automate features such as Blue light filter, Night mode, and DND in One UI without having to rely on any Routines?

All of the three features mentioned above can either be turned On or Off manually, or they can be set to do so automatically according to a predefined or custom schedule.

How to automate Blue light filter, Night mode, and DND

Setting up a schedule for these three features is simple. Just swipe the Status bar down and tap the text under each option; not the quick toggle itself but the text beneath it. Then tap Details.

The Details page for each feature contains two toggles. One lets you enable or disable the selected feature manually, while the other allows you to set a schedule. You can either set these three features to follow an automated Sunset to sunrise schedule based on your timezone, or you can tap Custom schedule and set the desired hours of the day.

Bonus tip: Blue light filter and DND come with a couple of extra options. You can change the filter’s opacity, set exceptions for DND, or choose which notifications to be shown or hidden whenever DND is enabled.

How often do you use Blue light filter, Night mode, and/or DND? Do you usually enable/disable them manually or schedule them? Or do you prefer relying on Bixby Routines instead? Let us know in the comment section below.

New Galaxy S10 Android 10 beta update out with notable fixes

Samsung is racing to the finish line by releasing yet another beta Android 10 update for the Galaxy S10 series. This is the seventh beta update overall and is currently rolling out in the United States for the unlocked models and in South Korea, with software version G97*U1UEU2ZSKL for the former and G97*NKSU3ZSKL for the latter.

The new beta seems to fix a number of serious problems. There’s something called “reset issue of device”, a crash of the home screen, and a hanging issue because of Wi-Fi, among others, which you can see in the screenshot below. Given the nature of the bug fixes included in this update, we’re assuming Samsung will release it to beta users in other countries soon, although it wasn’t available outside the US and South Korea at the time of this writing.

As always, you can grab the latest beta from the Settings » Software update menu on your Galaxy S10e, S10, or S10+ by tapping the Download and install option. The update size varies between 130 MB to 200 MB depending on device and country.
