Samsung launched the consumer version of the Gear VR just last week, the $99 virtual reality headset can be purchased from Samsung’s online store as well as Best Buy. If you’d rather pick it up from a wireless carrier then T-Mobile is your only option since Magenta is currently the only mobile carrier in the United States that has confirmed that it will start selling the Gear VR through its stores later this month.
Even at T-Mobile the Gear VR will cost $99 so opting to buy it from the carrier won’t really save you any money. The headset is compatible with the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S6 edge, the Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5, all four devices are already available for purchase on T-Mobile. Magenta will have the Gear VR available in participating stores as well as available through its website starting November 27.
