These TVs come packed with excellent picture quality and a smartphone-powered, easy-to-use content management solution that helps consumer-facing businesses such as cafes, restaurants, apparel and makeup stores, salons, retail stores, and more.

The South Korean firm’s new TVs are easy to use and easy to install. They come in four sizes—43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch, and 70-inch—and have prices ranging from INR 75,000 to INR 175,000. Galaxy S20 Fan Edition to use Galaxy S20’s camera sensor

The Galaxy S20 Fan Edition, which is a spiritual successor to the Galaxy S10 Lite, is expected to be launched in October. We had exclusively revealed information about its existence two months ago. It was earlier reported that Samsung could equip the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition with its latest camera sensor, the 50MP ISOCELL GN1. However, it doesn’t look like it is happening.

While last week’s report had revealed that it would come with a 12MP+12MP+8MP triple-camera setup, the actual model number of the sensor wasn’t disclosed. Noted tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) has now revealed that the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition will use the Sony IMX555 for its primary rear-facing camera. If you can remember, this is the same sensor that’s used in the Galaxy S20 and the Galaxy S20+.

The Sony IMX55 is a 1/1.76-inch sensor with 12MP resolution, dual-pixel PD autofocus, and 1.8µm pixels. Hopefully, Samsung has equipped it with OIS as well. Going by a previous report, the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition will also use a 12MP ultrawide camera and an 8MP telephoto camera with a 3x optical zoom. This also means that the phone won’t be able to record 8K videos as none of its cameras exceed the 33.2MP resolution (8K).

Galaxy S20 Fan Edition leaked specs

The Galaxy S20 Fan Edition is expected to feature a 6.5-inch or 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an in-display fingerprint reader. It will be equipped with the Snapdragon 865 processor, 6GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, and a microSD card slot. It is also IP68-certified for dust and water resistance.

Other features of the phone could include LTE, A-GPS, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB Type-C port, and a 4,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. It is being reported that the phone will be priced at $750, which is $100 higher than the price of the Galaxy S10 Lite. It could be offered in green, orange, red, and white colors.

Samsung jumps to second place in Indian smartphone market amid the pandemic

Samsung ‘s dominance in the Indian smartphone market has been declining for the past few years, and the company had dropped to third place in Q1 2020 in terms of market share. However, the South Korean firm seems to have climbed up the ladder during the second quarter to recapture the second position amid the pandemic and anti-China sentiments.

According to a new report from Counterpoint Research, Samsung’s market share in the Indian smartphone market was 26 percent during Q2 2020. Xiaomi was still the leader of the segment with a 29 percent share of the market, but it is now within the South Korean firm’s reach. Other Chinese firms, Vivo (17%), Realme (11%), and OPPO (9%), stood at third, fourth, and fifth positions, respectively.

Samsung shipped over 4.68 million smartphones in India

Smartphone shipments in India halved to just 18 million units during Q2 2020 due to the pandemic and closure of stores. In comparison, the March 2020 quarter saw shipments of over 31 million units. Even with declined shipments, Samsung seems to have done well compared to its Chinese rivals, shipping 4.68 million smartphones. Compared to its own numbers in Q2 2019, the company’s market share improved slightly.

Smartphone brands faced several issues in the Indian market during the pandemic, including the stuttering supply of components and factory closures. There has also been an anti-China sentiment in the country after a dispute at the India-China border, which resulted in lower shipments for the Chinese brands.

While Apple and OnePlus don’t appear in the top five brands in the overall smartphone market, they are the top players in the ultra-premium (above $600) and premium ($400) smartphone segments, respectively. With smartphones like the Galaxy M31s, Galaxy M51, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Samsung’s market share could improve even further in the next quarter.

Galaxy M51 inches closer to launch, gets Wi-Fi certification

We had exclusively reported three months ago that Samsung is developing the Galaxy M31s and the Galaxy M51. While the Galaxy M31s has been officially revealed already, the company still hasn’t started teasing the launch of the Galaxy M51. However, we now know that the Galaxy M51 is inching closer to its launch, thanks to its Wi-Fi certification.

The Galaxy M51 with model number SM-M515F/DSN has received certification from Wi-Fi Alliance. Documents related to the certification reveal that the phone runs Android 10 and features dual-band Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac and Wi-Fi Direct. The phone’s model number also reveals that it will feature a dual-SIM card slot.

Previous reports have claimed that the Galaxy M51 features the Snapdragon 730 processor, up to 8GB RAM, and 128GB internal storage. It will most likely feature a microSD card for storage space expansion. The upcoming smartphone is believed to be based on the Galaxy A51, so we can expect it to sport a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O display from CSOT with a center-aligned punch hole for the selfie camera.

Other Galaxy M51 specifications include a quad-camera setup at the rear, consisting of a 64MP wide-angle camera and a 12MP ultrawide camera. We expect it to feature the Single Take mode and 4K video recording. There is a possibility that the phone is powered by a 7,000mAh battery and features 25W fast charging. The phone will reportedly be launched in September.

A new video dives deeper into the Galaxy Note 20 S Pen pointer feature

A hands-on video with the yet-to-be announced Galaxy Note 20 emerged at the beginning of the month, and among other things, it briefly revealed a new addition to the S Pen called S Pen pointer. Now a new video from the same source has popped-up on YouTube, detailing this new addition to the Galaxy Note 20 lineup.

S Pen pointer can be considered an evolution of Air Actions – a feature introduced with the Galaxy Note 10 – or at the very least, it seems to be Samsung’s way of making more extensive use of the new S Pen’s internal gyroscope. S Pen pointer turns the Galaxy Note 20’s S Pen into a laser pointer with mouse-like functionality, and we’re guessing that it will be quite useful for Powerpoint presentations and similar applications.

The new feature comes with a handful of settings. Galaxy Note 20 owners will be able to set the speed of the S Pen pointer, choose a different color and size, and they’ll also have the option of enabling or disabling a trail effect for the pointer.

How does S Pen pointer work?

S Pen pointer can be enabled by pressing and holding the S Pen button and shaking the S Pen. The pointer will then appear on the Galaxy Note 20’s screen, and users can move the pointer by pressing and holding the S Pen button.

Pressing the S Pen button once while pointing at an item on the screen will select the item, while pressing and holding the button while moving the S Pen will scroll the page. Yes, this seems to be the same command as moving the pointer, so either Samsung’s explanations are yet incomplete or the ones presented in the videos are not entirely accurate. In any case, you can check the video below and get a better sense of what the S Pen pointer feature added to the Galaxy Note 20 is all about.

Massive Galaxy Tab S7 / S7+ leak tells the full story with renders in tow

Similar to the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Samsung’s upcoming flagship tablet series bearing the Galaxy Tab S7 moniker has been extensively-leaked ahead of Galaxy Unpacked 2020. We’ve exclusively shared a complete list of specs for the Galaxy Tab S7+ a couple of weeks ago, but now, specs for both tablets along with high-resolution renders for both the Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+ have emerged via Winfuture, leaving very little to the imagination.

The two tablet models share various internal specifications and look very much alike except the Galaxy Tab S7+ is obviously larger, as the name implies.

Smaller Galaxy Tab S7 has an LCD instead of AMOLED

The new leak reconfirms that the Galaxy Tab S7 has an 11-inch LTPS TFT LCD with a pixel count of 2560 by 1600. The panel is capable of reaching a brightness level of 500cd/m2. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab S7+ has a 12.4-inch AMOLED panel with a pixel count of 2800 by 1752 and a lower peak brightness of 420cd/m2.

The good news is that even with these differences in display technology, both tablet models reportedly benefit from a 120Hz refresh rate. More so, both the Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S7+ will apparently be paired with the same low-latency S Pen that boasts a response time of only 9ms – same as the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra S Pen.

The tablet duo has 5G and roughly the same internals

Both tablet models will take advantage of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865+ chipset paired with an X55 5G modem, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of expandable storage for the base model. They also feature quad speakers with Dolby Atmos support, and share the same camera configuration.

Future owners who may want to capture photos using the Galaxy Tab S7 or Galaxy Tab S7+ will have a rear-facing dual camera setup to work with, comprising a 13MP main shooter with an f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture. An 8MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture resides on the other side.

Both tablets will also reportedly feature wireless DeX which is a completely new addition to the DeX ecosystem. They’ll ship in the same range of colors including Mystic Black, Mystic Bronze, and Mystic Silver, and they both have a magnetic strip/S Pen holder running across the back panel. However, the S Pen holder doesn’t seem to be carved into the body of the tablet as it was with the Galaxy Tab S6.

As for other dissimilarities, the Galaxy Tab S7 measures 253.8 x 165.4 x 6.34mm, it weigh 496 grams, and it carries a 7040mAh battery. In contrast, the larger Galaxy Tab S7+ measures 285 mm x 185 mm x 5.7mm, it weighs 590 grams, and is powered by a 10,090mAh battery to make up for the larger display.

  • Model: SM-T870
  • Dimensions: Tablet: 253.8 x 165.4 x 6.34 mm
  • Display: 11 inch / 279.4 mm Super AMOLED Display
  • CPU: Snapdragon 865+
  • Camera: 5MP

  • Model: SM-T970
  • Dimensions: Tablet: 285 x 185 x 5.7 mm
  • Display: 12.4 inch / 314.96 mm Super AMOLED Display
  • CPU: Snapdragon 865+
  • Camera: 5MP
