Daily Deal: Save 48% on Samsung’s Dual-Port Car Fast Charger

Amazon has slashed the price of Samsung’s Dual-Port Car Fast Charger to just $19.99 (48% 0ff). As its name suggests, this particular charger has compatibility for Adaptive Fast Charging technology, meaning it’s capable of charging a compatible smartphone from 0 to 50% in less than 30-minutes.

If you like the sound of the Dual-Port Car Fast Charger and want to take advantage of this promotion, hit the Buy Now button below. We advise you to hurry, though, as Amazon only has a limited amount of inventory available for this specific deal, and as it’s available worldwide, it’ll probably sell out fast.

128GB Galaxy C9 Pro may be in the pipeline

Samsung exclusively launched the Galaxy C9 Pro in China several months ago before deciding to release it in markets like Malaysia and India. It has only been a few weeks since the Galaxy C9 Pro was launched in India. The variant that Samsung has released so far features 64GB of internal storage but it appears that Samsung may soon offer another variant with 128GB of internal storage.

A variant of the Galaxy C9 Pro with 128GB storage has been spotted on China’s TENAA certification website. It suggests that the company might offer this variant with double the internal storage at least in some markets across the globe.

The TENAA listing shows that everything else will remain the same so this Galaxy C9 Pro will have the same 6-inch Full HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor with 6GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel front and rear camera, a 4,000mAh battery and more.

There’s no confirmation from Samsung as yet on when we will see this 128GB Galaxy C9 Pro available for purchase. If you’re interested in this device, don’t forget to check out our review of the Galaxy C9 Pro.

Galaxy S5 is still the most popular Samsung smartphone in the US

Samsung is a major player in the US smartphone market as its flagship smartphones are almost always some of the most highly anticipated devices of the year in this particular market. Samsung’s flagship smartphones have seen considerable success in the country, the Galaxy S5 particularly, as the 2014 flagship still remains the most popular Samsung device in the United States.

The latest data shared by market research firm KantarWordpanel reveals that 15.6 percent of Samsung’s entire user base in the United States is accounted for by the Galaxy S5. It’s followed by the Galaxy S7 in second place with 11.5 percent of the installed base, the Galaxy S6 in third place with 11.4 percent and the Galaxy S7 edge in fourth with 5.8 percent of the installed base.

Kantar’s data shows that over the last 12 months, almost 28 percent of Samsung’s entire installed base upgraded to one of its new smartphones. Of that 28 percent, more than 52 percent opted for a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge and 10 percent went with a Galaxy S6.

The remainder was divided among 48 Samsung devices which goes to show that Samsung’s diverse offerings in the country do tend to bring in buyers.

Samsung’s new Gear 360 app is now live on the Play Store

Samsung unveiled a new Gear 360 camera alongside the Galaxy S8 last month. The company has now released a new smartpone companion app for the Gear 360 (2017). The Gear 360 (New) app can be used to control the camera remotely, change various settings, and even for initiating a live 360-degree broadcast on Facebook, Samsung VR, and YouTube.

The Gear 360 (2017) uses two 8.4-megapixel camera sensors with F2.2 aperture and fisheye lenses to capture 360-degree images and videos in “near 4K” resolution. The device is smaller than its predecessor, hence easier to carry around. Apart from Samsung smartphones, the camera is also compatible with newer iPhone models as well as PCs and Macs.

More images of Galaxy S8+ prototype with dual-camera setup leak

Images of multiple Galaxy S8+ prototype units were leaked a couple of weeks ago, showcasing a dual-camera setup and a missing fingerprint reader on the devices. Now, clearer images of a similar Galaxy S8+ prototype have surfaced on the Internet.

There doesn’t seem to be a model number mentioned on the device this time around, but it seems similar to the prototype of the Galaxy S8+ which was leaked earlier. You can clearly see two camera sensors, a heart-rate monitor, and a single-LED flash at the back. The UI of the device is similar to that of the Galaxy S8 and S8+. There doesn’t seem to be a fingerprint sensor on the device.

Samsung reportedly poured a lot of money to help Synaptics in developing an on-screen fingerprint reader for the Galaxy S8 and S8+, but the end results weren’t satisfactory enough to be implemented into the devices before their mass production began. If the company successfully embeds a fingerprint sensor into the Galaxy Note 8, it would be a huge step forward for smartphones.
