Samsung Pay users in Brazil will get a discount for buying airline tickets

Samsung has announced an exclusive partnership with MaxMilhas in Brazil. It’s a platform through which users can buy cheap airline tickets. The partnership will provide Samsung Pay users in the country with an added incentive to use the service. The MaxMilhas platform was launched in 2013 and it also connects people to those who want to sell air miles to people who want to buy cheaper flights.

The offer is valid for a limited time

Samsung Pay users in Brazil who use the mobile payments service to buy tickets through the platform between now and July 11, 2018 will receive a R$50,00 discount coupon which they will be able to use for their next travel booking on the MaxMilhas’ website.

Samsung regularly offers incentives to Samsung Pay users to ensure that they continue to use the service for making payments. This latest partnership is a part of that effort. The fact that users can use Samsung Pay to make payments almost anywhere they can already pay with a credit or debit card also helps retaining users who join to try out the mobile payments service.

“Our partnership with MaxMilhas demonstrates the real benefits and advantages for Samsung Pay users on a day-to-day basis, as well as the convenience of knowing that they can make payments in virtually every Brazilian business using only their smartphone or smartwatch,” said Paulo César do Nascimento, Senior Manager of Samsung Pay in Brazil.

AT&T’s Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge Oreo update rolling out for some users

The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge may be getting updated to Android 8.0 Oreo on the AT&T network in the US. We had received a tip from an AT&T S7 user about the update’s availability over the weekend, and at least one user on the AT&T forums claims to have downloaded Oreo on the S7 edge. It’s likely the update really is rolling out, as Verizon has also released the Oreo update for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge (yes, North America’s largest carrier did remove Oreo details from its support pages a second time, but it has since made things official again).

Galaxy S7 Oreo update now more widely available

The Galaxy S7 Oreo update has now been released in a number of markets around the world, though it still hasn’t reached everyone. In the US, T-Mobile and Sprint still haven’t said anything about the update, but it shouldn’t be long before that changes. If you have a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge on AT&T, you can check if Oreo is available for you by going into the Settings » Software update menu on the phone and tapping Download updates manually. It’s a big update, so a Wi-Fi network is recommended for the download.

The build number after updating should be G935AUCU4CRE4 and the security patch date would be April 1. New features include an upgraded Samsung keyboard with new emojis and high-contrast options, autofill support, Picture-in-Picture mode, App Pair, Dual Messenger, App Pair, notification dots for app icons, and more. We have covered these features in detail in our What’s New With Android 8.0 Oreo series of articles, so be sure to take a look to see what functionality Oreo brings to your Galaxy S7.

Let us know if your Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge has received the Oreo update if you’re on AT&T’s network.
