Those annoying YouTube ads? You’ll soon be able to skip them for cheap

Millions of Galaxy smartphone and tablet users worldwide have limited-time access to YouTube Premium for free whenever they purchase a Samsung mobile device, but once the trial period ends, they have a choice between continuing to use YouTube for free with ads or paying €11.99 a month for an ad-free experience with additional perks. And, let’s face it, many people abandon their YouTube Premium subscriptions the moment the free trial ends, precisely because of the €11.99 monthly fee. It’s too steep, and all the bells and whistles that come with Premium don’t always seem to be worth the price tag. Fortunately, YouTube is working on a solution.

The company is testing a new paid service called YouTube Premium Lite. It’s cheaper than the regular Premium subscription at €6.99 a month, and it offers an ad-free experience for YouTube and YouTube Kids on Android, iOS, and smart TVs.

YouTube decided to bring the monthly subscription fee down to €6.99 for the new Premium Lite service by ditching extra features that are included with the regular Premium subscription. As a result, Premium Lite users won’t have access to offline viewing or YouTube Music.

For now, YouTube Premium Lite is available in a few European countries

The new YouTube Premium Lite subscription model is available only in a few countries. The company is testing this feature before it decides whether it should have a wider release, and as of this writing, it’s available in Benelux and Nordic countries except Iceland.

According to an official statement by YouTube via Android Central, the company’s been working on building “a subscription service that  fits the needs of our users” ever since YouTube Premium was first released nearly six years ago.

There’s no word as to when or if YouTube Premium Lite will be released in more markets. Either way, if the Lite subscription catches on, we wouldn’t be surprised if it will eventually be bundled with Samsung Galaxy devices. The YouTube Premium Lite subscription would certainly befit cheaper devices from the Galaxy A, M, and F lineups.

The Galaxy Buds 2 will have a new, less convenient pairing process

The Samsung Galaxy Wearable app, which is what you use to connect all of the company’s earbuds and smartwatches to your phone, has been updated with a new blue-colored icon and references to Samsung’s upcoming new wearables. To be more precise, trying to connect a new device through the Galaxy Wearable app now mentions the Galaxy Buds 2, along with a new pairing process.

Samsung’s existing Galaxy Buds products can be put into pairing mode by putting them in the ears and touching and holding each earbud for three seconds. On the Galaxy Buds 2, the process will be a little less convenient: You will have to put the earbuds in the case and then tap and hold their touchpads for three seconds before they go into pairing mode.

It’s worth noting that all existing Galaxy Buds earbuds can also be paired to new devices by simply placing the earbuds in the charging case, closing it, and then opening the case back up (as long as they’ve been disconnected with the previous device they were paired with). This method will likely continue to work, though we can’t be sure at this time. Thankfully, it won’t be long before we find out, as we’re just about a week away from the Galaxy Buds 2’s official announcement.

The Galaxy Buds 2 will be joined by the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, along with the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, at Samsung’s August 11th Unpacked event. Not that an event is needed at this point, considering everything has leaked extensively these past few weeks, but hey, Samsung has probably worked hard on planning the thing, so we’re ready to act all surprised when the company takes the virtual stage.

Galaxy A20 now getting Android 11 in the U.S.

Samsung started updating the Galaxy A20 to Android 11 some two months back. Today, that OS upgrade cycle is nearing international completion, having just reached the United States.

Identified by PDA version A205USQU9CUG3, the new firmware release has just started rolling out stateside. Xfinity Mobile customers are the first users in the country to get it, but this development means all variants of the Galaxy A20 will follow suit in the days ahead.

The next security update for the Galaxy A20 might be months away

Downloading the newest over-the-air update will bump your One UI version from 2.5 up to 3.1. On the cybersecurity front, the new security patch level you can expect following the download will be dated July 1st, 2021. While the August 2021 patch has already been rolling out for the past few days, major OS upgrades tend to be a month behind Samsung’s latest security bulletin, so that’s pretty much par for the course.

Or rather, it would be par for the course if the Galaxy A20 was still on the monthly monthly release schedule. Alas, that’s not the case, so the next security patch to hit it will likely only arrive in fall. By that time, all Galaxy A20 owners in the U.S. should already be using One UI 3.1.

Either way, this is the second major OS revision to hit the 2019 device, and likely the final one. With that said, the Galaxy A20 is guaranteed to continue receiving security patches for nearly two more years. Courtesy of Samsung going above and beyond to ensure its customers remain safe even many years after purchasing their devices.

This is the most epic Galaxy Watch 4 leak yet!

The Galaxy Watch 4, or rather the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, to be precise, has just been subjected to the most revealing leak yet. It doesn’t consist of press renders, but it details almost every hardware component you can imagine, leaving very little — if anything — to the imagination.

The source claims this is an official spec sheet for the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic that was translated to English. However, the details are there and match — or even surpass — our expectations.

New chipset and a higher resolution display

As expected given the previous reports, the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is powered by a new chipset called the Exynos W920. It’s said  to have been built on a 5nm process, which should make it more efficient than the previous generation SoCs. The watch has 1.5GB of RAM and a whopping 16GB of built-in storage.

The Galaxy Watch 4 Classic reportedly has a 1.36-inch circular display, which would make it a tiny bit smaller than the Watch 3 display. However, the leaked spec sheet also claims that the 1.36-inch screen has a higher resolution of 450 by 450 pixels. The panel is protected by Gorilla Glass DX.

The battery capacity was also revealed at 361mAh. It can gain a full charge in 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Other specs include a MIL-STD 810G-certified build that’s 5ATM waterproof and has an IP68 rating. The wearable takes advantage of Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi dual-band 2.4GHz & 5GHz, and NFC connectivity. Location tracking can be done through GPS, Glonass, Beidou, and Galileo.

Three health sensors and a new software experience

The Galaxy Watch 4 Classic will run a new version of Android Wear as opposed to Tizen OS. This much was confirmed by both Samsung and Google many weeks ago, but the leaked spec sheet at hand sheds a bit more light on the nomenclature. Apparently, the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic will run Android Wear with a One UI Watch 3.5 overlay on top. It will connect to Galaxy smartphones through the Galaxy Wearable app we all know.

Last but certainly not least, the leak claims that the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic has three health sensor, namely a PPG, an ECG, and a BIA sensor. They can calculate blood pressure, the heart rate, and the level of body fat.

The Galaxy Watch 4 Classic will be available in two color options — black and silver — and will ship with a Ridge Sport (silicon) strap.

Galaxy A51 5G Bluetooth vulnerabilities get fixed with July security update

Samsung is already seeding the August 2021 security patch to various Galaxy devices, but that doesn’t mean the company is done with previous releases. Various smartphone models remain queued up for the July security update, and the Galaxy A51 5G is next in line to receive it.

The 4G model was the first to be updated with the July 2021 security patch a couple of weeks ago when the rollout began in Russia. Now, the Galaxy A51 5G (SM-A516B) in the UK is getting a new firmware update that includes the same security patch.

The new Galaxy A51 5G update carries firmware version A516BXXU4CUG4, which suggests that the package could contain more than just a newer security level. Nevertheless, the phone’s been running Android 11 and One UI 3.1 since April, so it’s not wise to expect any groundbreaking changes to the user interface with this latest release.

Addressing Bluetooth-related vulnerabilities

As detailed by Samsung last month, the July 2021 security patch addresses various issues found within Android OS and Samsung’s software, including Bluetooth vulnerabilities that affect Galaxy devices powered by the Exynos 7570 and Exynos 980 chipsets.

The Galaxy A51 5G is one of these devices. It has the Exynos 980 SoC under the hood, so make sure to download and install the new firmware update as soon as possible to maintain a high level of security for your device.

You can download the latest firmware update with the July 2021 security patch in tow by tapping the update notification when it arrives, or by opening Settings on the phone, accessing Software update, and tapping Download and install. You can also skip these steps and download the new Galaxy A51 5G update from our firmware database.

Samsung’s QNED TVs could offer the industry’s best picture quality

Samsung currently sells LCD TVs, QLED TVs, Mini-LED TVs, and even MicroLED TVs. It is also working on QD-OLED TVs and QNED TVs for the high-end segment, which could be launched in the coming months. It has been reported in the past that QNED TVs are ready for mass production, and it is now being revealed that the company’s QNED TVs could offer the industry’s best picture quality.

Samsung Electronics makes TVs using display panels from Samsung Display. UBI Research reports that Samsung Display has been fine-tuning its QNED (Quantum Dot Nanorod LED) display technology to satisfy Samsung Electronics’ extremely high expectations. The South Korean firm aims to use quantum dot technology to surpass the color gamut provided by OLED displays. It also wants a display technology that offers excellent HDR performance and high brightness without getting hampered by the burn-in issue seen on OLED TVs.

UBI Research has managed to get its hands on QNED-related patents filed by Samsung Display. After studying them, the firm “confirms” that the South Korean firm’s QNED display technology is capable of offering the best image quality.

According to the patents, Samsung Display’s QNED technology uses a stack of quantum dot material, a color filter (color conversion layers), and nanorod LEDs on top of TFTs (Thin Film Transistors). This TFT plane uses the same structure as that of OLEDs: 3 transistors and 1 capacitor. However, the difference between OLED and QNED is that the former has electrodes (anode and cathode) and the electrode line above and below the light-emitting material. On the other hand, the QNED display has the electrodes and the electrode line on the same plane.

The QNED display panel also features an additional reflective electrode to increase luminance. The nanorod LEDs are sprayed onto a given pixel area using advanced inkjet printers, and the nanorods are then aligned using electric signals to fine-tune the performance.

Samsung is giving new TV customers a free Smart Start bundle worth £200

Buying a new smart TV can sometimes be an easier task than choosing the right content providers, especially given the numerous streaming services that are available alongside countless traditional/linear TV channels. Granted, compared to other TV brands, it’s much easier for Samsung customers to find new content because they gain access to tons of free shows and movies via Samsung TV Plus. However, Samsung is now making it even easier for new TV customers in the UK to be entertained.

The company has just announced a new limited-time campaign that should help new TV customers in the UK choose their favorite content providers without spending a dime. Samsung Smart Start is a new campaign started by Samsung UK, and the idea is simple: It might be daunting for new smart TV customers to find the right paid content in the vast sea of entertainment, so the company is bundling new smart TVs with the Smart Start package.

What does the Samsung Smart Start package include?

Samsung Smart Start comes with over £200 worth of content from partners including Rakuten TV, BritBox, YouTube, TIDAL, and Fiit.

Customers in the UK who buy a new (2020/2021) Samsung smart TV until January 6, 2022, can redeem their Smart Start offers through the Samsung Promotion app. They get five UHD movie rentals from Rakuten TV for free, along with a 3-month pass to BritBox, and a 3-month YouTube Premium subscription.

In addition, fitness enthusiasts get three months of free access to more than 700+ on-demand workout videos distributed by Fiit, and last but not least, Samsung Smart Start customers can enjoy four months of ad-free lossless audio on TIDAL HiFi. Terms and conditions apply, so make sure you refer to the Smart Start promotional page for more details.

Best Samsung Phones in July 2021 – Picked by experts

Given the sheer number of devices that it releases every year, finding the best Samsung phones can often prove to be a challenge for most customers. It doesn’t matter if you want a flagship or a budget device. Samsung offers plenty of options for all price ranges.

To make it easier for you to find the one that best suits your needs, our expert reviewers have created this list of the best Samsung smartphones. We’ll explain precisely why a device has made it on to our list and provide you with links to their detailed reviews. This will help you cut through the noise and really find out what is the best Samsung phone.

Our Best Samsung Phone List For July 2021

Our list for July 2021 has a great mix of devices, helped by the launch of Samsung’s new Galaxy S21 series. We have also included some of the good Samsung phones in the mid-range and affordable categories that are currently available.

Best Samsung Phone – Spec monster: Galaxy S21 Ultra

The Galaxy S21 Ultra has big shoes to fill. It follows the Galaxy S20 Ultra which was Samsung’s everything and the kitchen sink phone. Last year’s flagship was packed to the gills with the best that Samsung had to offer. It’s a similar story for the Galaxy S21 Ultra as it remains the company’s undisputed spec monster.

Samsung’s latest high-end flagship features a 6.8-inch display with a 10Hz to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The Galaxy S21 Ultra is capable of hitting the 120Hz refresh rate at the highest WQHD+ resolution. Depending on the market, the Galaxy S21 Ultra will be available with an Exynos 2100 or Snapdragon 888 chipset. It’s paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. No external expansion is possible as the device doesn’t have a microSD card slot.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra retains its predecessor’s 5,000mAh battery. It does get an updated camera setup which includes two telephoto (zoom) cameras capable of achieving 100x Space Zoom. It also gets a whole host of new software features that take full advantage of the camera setup’s capabilities.

There’s even support for the S Pen. The Galaxy S21 Ultra is the first non-Note Galaxy device to get the S Pen. However, one doesn’t ship with the device. You’ll need to buy it separately in addition to a case that lets you carry the S Pen because it doesn’t slide inside the smartphone.

Samsung has once again set the benchmark for the rest of the Android manufacturers. This handset will remain the best Galaxy phone to be released this year. No other Samsung handset due in 2021 will have the kind of specs that this does. Looking beyond what’s under the hood, the Galaxy S21 Ultra also has exceptional build quality and a great design.

Reasons to buy: Powerful cameras, great battery life, exceptional display and top-notch performance.

Who should buy: Loyal Samsung fans, mobile gaming enthusiasts, mobile photographers and vloggers.

Best Samsung Phone – Productivity: Galaxy Note 20 Ultra

There’s no question about it, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra tops our list as the best Samsung phone for productivity. Samsung has made a number of meaningful improvements to its latest flagship smartphone, particularly the S Pen upgrades. The S Pen latency has been dropped to 9ms in order to provide a more fluid and natural experience with the stylus.

The 6.9-inch Galaxy Note 20 Ultra also comes with the latest in smartphone technology as well as 5G support. It happens to be the first Samsung smartphone to feature a dynamic 120Hz refresh rate display.

This is actually the first time that a Samsung phone has had a variable refresh rate. The Galaxy Note 20’s display switches between 10Hz, 30Hz, 60Hz and 120Hz. It depends on whatever’s being shown on the screen. This is done to save power by not using the maximum refresh rate in circumstances where it’s not necessary. Pretty neat.

Samsung has also significantly improved the camera setup compared to its predecessor. There are several new software features and new camera modes that enable customers to get the most out of this $1,299 flagship. All of this makes the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra stand out as one of the top Samsung phones of 2021.

Reasons to buy: Best display on a smartphone, wireless DeX, gorgeous design, enhanced camera functionality and great battery life.

Who should buy: Customers who want the latest Samsung phones, power users, mobile gamers, vloggers and content creators.

Best Samsung Phone – Compact: Galaxy S20 FE

Samsung is out with a new Fan Edition model this year. The Galaxy S20 FE packs many of the best features of the Galaxy S20 series into a more compact package. It uses the same flagship-level chipsets, a 120Hz refresh rate display and a respectable 4,500mAh battery. Samsung has replaced the glass back with plastic and that’s actually a good thing.

The 6.5-inch flat display is great for those who don’t particularly like curved displays. The two 12-megapixel cameras offers similar results as the Galaxy S20+ and it even comes with an 8-megapixel telephoto camera that provides 3x lossless optical zoom. Samsung has also confirmed that it will receive three years of Android OS upgrades. For all of the amazing tech that it offers, the $699 price tag for the 5G variant of the Galaxy S20 FE makes it one of the best value Samsung phones to buy this year.

It’s a good move by the company to offer the Galaxy S20 FE. This enables it to compete against rivals that offer premium, near-flagship like devices for far less than what a traditional flagship would cost. The Galaxy S20 FE allows Samsung to go after those customers as well. That’s what makes it worthy of a place among the top rated Samsung phones of the year.

Reasons to buy: Great design, well-built, great performance, flat AMOLED display and three years of OS upgrades.

Who should buy: Customers who want a flagship-level phone for less, those who don’t want to be worried about breaking the glass back.

Best Samsung Phone – Foldable: Galaxy Z Fold 2

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is the latest and greatest foldable smartphone from Samsung. It brings some major improvements compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Fold. This includes a larger 6.2-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch Infinity Flex display that’s made of Ultra-Thin Glass and has a dynamic 120Hz refresh rate. The design has been improved as well and the hinge is now more durable. It even gets Flex Mode which allows the hinge to free stand at different angles so that the phone can effectively become its own tripod. You can even wirelessly charge it like that!

Under the hood, you’ll find the Snapdragon 865+ processor with 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The top-notch specs make the device a bona fide flagship smartphone and its unique form factor just adds to its appeal. The cameras aren’t exceptional by any means but they are enough to get the job done for most users. There’s tons of new functionality, though, which takes full advantage of the large screen.

It goes without saying that the Galaxy Z Fold 2 deserves a place on this list. It’s truly shaping up to be one of the best Samsung phones ever made.

Reasons to buy: Unique form factor, stylish design, great performance and useful features.

Who should buy: Power users, loyal Samsung fans, hype beasts and influencers.

The Galaxy A32 is a solid budget smartphone from Samsung. It features a 6.40inch Super AMOLED display with a MediaTek Helio G80 chipset with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage. The chipset is a bit slow for heavy tasks but that’s to be expected from a device in this price range.

Reasons to buy: AMOLED display, refreshed design, 5,000mAh battery, good camera performance.

Who should buy: Budget smartphone buyers and those who need great battery life.

Why These Are The Best Samsung Phones This Month

Samsung’s strategy has long been to offer something for everyone. We now have one of Samsung’s most diverse smartphone lineups. You have an absolute spec king in the Galaxy S21 Ultra to the extent of being over the top. The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is certainly one of the best Note devices yet from Samsung as it builds on the feedback from Note loyalists and provides them with improvements they have long been asking for.

The Galaxy Z Flip is in a league of its own when it comes to foldable smartphones. There’s really no true successor for it on the market yet. The Galaxy A52 does everything that you’d expect a device of its caliber to do without breaking a sweat. Lastly, customers won’t have much to complain about with the Galaxy A32. It’s incredibly clear in its purpose and because of that, it’s worthy of being on this list.

What is the newest Samsung phone? – August 2021

It has often been difficult to keep track of the newest Samsung phone given that the company releases so many throughout the year. Samsung has dozens of models across different series which cater to all price ranges. This page will be updated on a monthly basis to ensure that you can always know what is the newest Samsung phone in each series.

The latest Galaxy Phone in every series

Galaxy Z Fold 2

The highly anticipated successor to the original Galaxy Fold has finally been unveiled. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 was made official alongside the new Galaxy Note lineup on August 5. Samsung will start taking pre-orders for the device from September 1. That’s also when the company revealed more details about the device.

It comes with a larger 6.3-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch foldable display at 120Hz refresh rate. The internal display is more durable as its made out of Ultra Thin Glass. It gets flagship-level internals including the Snapdragon 865+ with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Check our Galaxy Z Fold 2 specs page for the detailed specs of this device.

The camera setup of this device includes a 12-megapixel primary sensor paired with a 12-megapixel ultra wide and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is available for pre-order now and will be released on September 18. It costs $1,999 and is offered in Mystic Black and Mystic Bronze color options.

Galaxy Z Flip

Samsung’s second foldable smartphone wasn’t launched as part of its Galaxy Fold series. The company decided to launch it as the Galaxy Z Flip instead. The Galaxy Z Flip was released in February 2020 and has quickly become one of the most highly sought after foldable smartphones on the market, and for good reason.

As we point out in our Galaxy Z Flip review, the device feels surprisingly normal despite the fact that it can fold in half into something you can easily wrap your hand around. It features 2019 flagship-level specs with a Snapdragon 855+ processor, 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. There’s also a 12-megapixel f/1.8 wide-angle camera and a 12-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide camera at the back. Selfie duties are handled by a 10-megapixel f/2.4 camera embedded in a punch hole in the 6.7-inch foldable display. It also has a combined battery capacity of 3,300mAh.

The Galaxy Z Flip is available far more widely than the Galaxy Fold was. It costs $1,380 and comes in three colors – Mirror Purple, Mirror Black and in select markets, Mirror Gold.

Galaxy Note

August is Galaxy Note month and right on cue, Samsung has unveiled two new handsets this time around as well. The Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra are now official and available for pre-order. They’ll go on sale come August 21.

There are some major differences between the two models. The Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra feature a 6.7-inch flat FHD+ display and a 6.9-inch Quad HD+ curved display with dynamic 120Hz refresh rate. The former doesn’t have a microSD card slot while the latter does. Both don’t support 45W super fast charging, maxing out at 25W instead.

While the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra retains the signature metal and glass build that Samsung flagships have become familiar far, the Galaxy Note 20 only gets a plastic back. That’s a surprising decision Samsung has made this year, in addition to not offering 120Hz refresh rate on the smaller handset.

They also use the same Exynos 990/Snapdragon 865+ chipsets with the Note 20 only getting 8GB RAM while the Ultra gets a 12GB RAM configuration as well with up to 512GB of storage. Check out our hands-on to learn more about these phones and visit our devices page for the full Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra specs.

Prices start at $999 and $1,299 for the 5G Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra respectively.

Galaxy S

Samsung unveiled its highly anticipated flagship lineup for 2021. The newest Samsung phones in the Galaxy S lineup are now the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and the Galaxy S21 Ultra. All three handsets are powered by the Exynos 2100/Snapdragon 888 chipset depending on the region. Samsung is offering different RAM and storage options on the variants.

The display supports adaptive refresh rate and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. Samsung has also revamped the design with a new Contour Cut camera housing that adds a touch of class to the device. It has taken away expandable storage, though, so there’s no microSD card slot on the entire lineup.

The Galaxy S21 is the entry-level device and also the smallest of them all. It features a 6.2-inch FHD+ flat display. Samsung has opted for a plastic back on this device instead of glass. Its camera setup includes a 12-megapixel f/2.2 ultrawide, 12-megapixel f/1.8 wide with OIS and 64-megapixel telephoto f/2.0 camera with OIS and 3x zoom. There’s also a 10-megapixel front camera. A 4,000mAh battery keeps the lights on with support for 25W fast charging. The Galaxy S21 is available in 128/256GB storage with 8GB of RAM.

Samsung has given the Galaxy S21+ a larger 6.7-inch FHD+ display. It also gets a flat panel but has glass on the back instead of plastic. This device has the same camera setup as the Galaxy S21. It’s also offered in 128/256GB storage capacities with 8GB of RAM. The Galaxy S21+ has a slightly larger 4,800mAh battery compared to its predecessor.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra is Samsung’s ultimate flagship. It comes with a 6.8-inch WQHD+ curved display that supports 120Hz refresh rate at the highest resolution. The camera setup puts the device in a league of its own. There’s Samsung’s latest 108-megapixel primary sensor, 12-megapixel ultra-wide and two 10-megapixel telephoto cameras with 3x and 10x optical zoom.

The handset offers an impressive 100x Space Zoom. A laser autofocus module is present as well. There’s a 40-megapixel camera up front for selfies. The Galaxy S21 Ultra has a 5,000mAh battery and is available in 128/256/512GB storage with up to 16GB of RAM.

Samsung has slightly reduced the prices for its 2021 flagship lineup. The Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and the Galaxy S21 Ultra start at $799, $999 and $1,199 respectively. The devices went on sale January 29. Check out Galaxy S21/Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra hands-on for our thoughts on the new devices.

Galaxy Fan Edition

Samsung has brought back the Fan Edition moniker and has also confirmed that it will release new Fan Edition models of its flagships every year. It’s kicking things off with the Galaxy S20 FE which is being marketed as a flagship in its own right.

Unveiled in September 2020, the Galaxy S20 FE brings many of the best features that were introduced with the Galaxy S20 lineup earlier this year. It gets a 6.5-inch FHD+ flat 120Hz refresh rate display, the same Exynos 990/Snapdragon 865 chipset, stereo speakers, a large 4,500mAh battery and three years of Android OS upgrades.

The Galaxy S20 FE also comes with a triple-camera system at the back which includes a 12-megapixel wide and 12-megapixel sensor in addition to an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and 30x Space Zoom. A 32-megapixel camera is present up front.

Samsung is now selling the Galaxy S20 FE. Prices start at $699 for the 5G variant in the United States.

Galaxy A

Samsung has significantly expanded its Galaxy A series over the past couple of years. It now offers over a dozen smartphones across all price ranges. You can get a entry level device like the Galaxy A10 and a 5G-capable device like the Galaxy A90 5G.

The Galaxy A52, Galaxy A52 5G and the Galaxy A72 are the latest Galaxy devices in this series. Samsung has launched its revamped mid-rangers recently. It has made substantial upgrades under the hood in addition to a more refined design.

Featuring a 6.5-inch 90Hz refresh rate display, the Galaxy A52 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720G chipset with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. The handset comes with a 4,500mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging. The 5G variant gets a 120Hz refresh rate display and the Snapdragon 750G chipset.

The camera setup includes a 64-megapixel optically stabilized main sensor paired with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide, 5-megapixel depth and 5-megapixel macro camera. A 32-megapixel front camera is present as well. Prices for the Galaxy A52 start at €349.

The Galaxy A72 comes with a 6.7-inch 90Hz refresh rate display, a Snapdragon 720G processor with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The lights are kept on by a 5,000mAh battery that has support for 25W fast charging.

In the camera department, you get a 64-megapixel primary sensor with OIS, an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical and up to 30x digital zoom, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide as well as a 5-megapixel macro camera. There’s also a 32-megapixel selfie camera upfront. Prices start at €449.

Galaxy M

Samsung introduced its Galaxy M lineup earlier this year. It’s a new budget lineup aimed primarily at India with features that were previously never seen on devices in this price range from Samsung. The series is also unique in that Samsung only sells the Galaxy M devices online.

The Galaxy M42 5G is now the latest handset in this series. It’s the first Galaxy M-branded smartphone to feature 5G connectivity. The handset is now available in India. It features a 6.6-inch Infinity-U display with HD+ resolution. The Snapdragon 750G resides under the hood with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage. It runs full-fledged One UI with version 3.1 onboard. Previous Galaxy M handsets have used the lightweight One UI Core. A 5,000mAh battery keeps the lights on with support for 15W charging.

The quad-camera setup of this device includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide, 5-megapixel macro and 5-megapixel depth camera. There’s also a 20-megapixel selfie camera.

Bear in mind that this list only tells you about the newest Samsung phone in every series, not what’s the best in a given price range. It’s to show you what the latest phone is so that you know what to look out for when buying a new Samsung smartphone.

Best Samsung Galaxy Tablets in August 2021

Nobody makes Android tablets the way Samsung does. The company is an outlier as it still comes out with a flagship Android tablet every year. As part of the company’s vision to offer something for everyone, Samsung’s lineup also includes mid-range and affordable options. Its flagship tablets have really come into their own over the past few years.

This variety can often present a challenge to those who just want to know what the best Samsung Galaxy tablets are. To help them out, we have created this list of best Samsung tablets which breaks down the strength of each option and explains who should buy them, and why. In addition to detailed information about each tablet, you’ll also find links to our in-depth reviews for these tablets.

Our Best Samsung Tablets List For August 2021

Samsung has treated us to two new high-end tablets this year. This is the first time that we’re seeing it launch two separate models of its flagship tablet. The Galaxy Tab S7+ is accompanied by the Galaxy Tab S7. Some of the company’s earlier tablets have also made it on the list as they offer good value for money.

Best Samsung Tablet – Spec monster: Galaxy Tab S7+

The Galaxy Tab S7+ is surely one of the best tablets that Samsung has ever made. It has a beautiful metal build and feels absolutely premium. It also happens to be the first flagship tablet from Samsung to feature a 12.4-inch display. It’s not just any display, either. This Super AMOLED panel has a buttery smooth 120Hz refresh rate.

It’s powered by a top-of-the-line chipset and paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. There’s also a chunky 10,090mAh battery. 5G support is present onboard. The Galaxy Tab S7+ is an absolute productivity champ with features like Multi-Active Window and wireless DeX. Samsung has also improved its S Pen by reducing latency and added more functionality.

Reasons to buy: Big and beautiful display, 120Hz refresh rate, great performance and battery life.

Who should buy: Customers who need a tablet for their work from home setup and enterprise customers for business applications.

Best Samsung Tablet – Productivity: Galaxy Tab S6

Much like its successor, the Galaxy Tab S6 was undoubtedly the best Android tablet to be released in 2019. It was also the first time that Samsung shipped its flagship tablet with the latest high-end chipset. Samsung initially released the LTE model only but later followed up with a separate 5G model.

The Galaxy Tab S6 also happened to be the first Samsung tablet to feature a dual camera setup at the back. Despite being a year old, it’s still one of the best Samsung tablets for its $729 price tag, and can often be purchased at a discount these days. That’s because it offers a better display than the base Galaxy Tab S7 and there’s really no significant difference in performance.

Reasons to buy: Great build quality, separate 5G variant, Super AMOLED display and dual cameras.

Who should buy: Anyone who needs a powerful Android tablet and feels that the Galaxy Tab S7+ is just too much for them.

Best Samsung Tablet – Entertainment: Galaxy Tab S5e

Do you only need a tablet to watch Netflix, occasionally browse the internet and use social media apps? The Galaxy Tab S5e is the best option for you. Granted, all of this can also be done by the most basic of tablets, but there won’t be any frustrating performance issues with the Galaxy Tab S5e.

The $479 Galaxy Tab S5e was Samsung’s thinnest tablet when it came out, yet it got a beautiful metal build and a gorgeous 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display. You really can’t beat the quality of Samsung’s AMOLED display and watching video content on it is truly a visual delight. Rich sound is provided by its AKG-tuned quad speakers, making it a well-rounded device for chilling with on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Reasons to buy: Incredibly light and thin, exceptional display, quad speakers and side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Who should buy: Customers who want a tablet purely for the purpose of consuming multimedia content.

Best Samsung Tablet – S Pen on a budget: Galaxy Tab S6 Lite

Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite earlier this year with the sole purpose of bringing the S Pen to the masses. Previously, one needed to purchase Samsung’s flagship tablet just to get the S Pen experience. With the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, Samsung has significantly lowered that barrier of entry.

It still feels sufficiently premium thanks to its metal body. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite also has something that none of the tablets mentioned above have: a 3.5mm headphone jack. Don’t expect a gorgeous AMOLED panel, though, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has a 10.4-inch LCD display. The tablet isn’t suited to heavy workloads but if you don’t need that much power, at $429 it’s a great option for those who want the S Pen experience without breaking the bank. It’s often available for purchase online at a decent discount.

Reasons to buy: Affordable, S Pen, 3.5mm headphone jack and good build quality.

Who should buy: Those that don’t require a powerful tablet but would like to have the S Pen experience without spending a fortune.

Why These Are The Best Samsung Tablets This Month

The Galaxy Tab S7+ is absolutely one of the best tablets that Samsung has made. It’s packed to the gills with tech and is a great fit for any work from home setup. There’s no question about it being on the list of best Samsung tablets. The same can’t be said for the Galaxy Tab S7, though, which is why the Galaxy Tab S6 finds its way on the list. Even though it’s a year old, it’s still a great option for those who need a productivity tool but don’t necessarily feel the need to buy the latest model.

Samsung continues to sell the Galaxy Tab S5e as well because it fits nicely into its tablet lineup. This isn’t really meant for any heavy workloads but is a great option for watching content. The display is gorgeous and the tablet itself is impossibly thin, making for a very comfortable user experience.

Lastly, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a viable option for customers who want to experience the S Pen on a large display but don’t need a flagship tablet. It offers them the opportunity to experience the best of what the S Pen has to offer at a reasonable price point.
