Galaxy SmartTag+ with UWB goes on pre-order in the US

Samsung had unveiled two new object trackers—Galaxy SmartTag and Galaxy SmartTag+—earlier this year alongside the Galaxy S21 series. While the Galaxy SmartTag went on sale almost immediately, Samsung had announced that the Galaxy SmartTag+ would go on sale later this year. It appears that the more premium object tracker from the company will soon be available for purchase.

The Galaxy SmartTag+ is now available for pre-order in the US. Best Buy has started accepting pre-orders for the Galaxy SmartTag+, and has mentioned that the device will start shipping on April 12. The device is priced at $39.99 in the US and will be available in two colors: Black and Denim Blue. According to reports, the Galaxy SmartTag+ received the FCC certification earlier today.

The Galaxy SmartTag+ is $15 costlier than the regular Galaxy SmartTag, but it comes with UWB (Ultra-Wide Band) that offers more precise location and direction information. It features Bluetooth 5.0 and a tracking range of close to 400 feet. When it is out of range, the Galaxy SmartTag+ can still be tracked via other Galaxy users’ devices using the Galaxy Find network. It has an IP53 rating for dust and water resistance and a ringer. Its replaceable battery lasts up to 5 months.

Samsung has a few other neat options for the Galaxy SmartTag+ in the SmartThings app. You can see the object tracker’s location in the AR (Augmented Reality) mode, configure its button for smart home controls or routines, adjust the ringer’s volume, and change the ringtone (8 presets available).

2TB Samsung Portable SSD T7 Touch is available at its lowest price yet

Amazon was offering the Samsung Portable SSD T7 Touch series at a hefty discount last week, and although that same deal is no longer available, the retailer is now selling the 2TB model in the USA at an even lower price than before.

The Portable SSD T7 Touch with a 2TB capacity is now available from Amazon at its lowest price yet. Prospective buyers are looking at an incredible $279 price after a 24% ($90) discount, down from the original $369 price. The 1TB model is also slightly cheaper but only by $10.

Customers will have to pick the 2TB Portable SSD T7 Touch in the color black before they can take advantage of the 24% discount. In contrast, the silver model is now priced at $349 after a 5% price reduction.

The 500GB variant is no longer in stock at Amazon, which might indicate that many people have found last week’s deal to be worth it. You may want to hurry before the same happens to the 1TB / 2TB models.

The Samsung Portable SSD T7 Touch offers read / write speeds of up to 1,050 / 1,000 MB/s, it has an LED indicator, and a fingerprint sensor that provides an extra layer of security over your data. The components are wrapped in a shock-resistant body that’s able to withstand drops from 6 feet (1.8m).

Samsung announces 60-day trial for foldables, cuts Galaxy Z Fold 2 price

If you’re a foldable phone enthusiast in the UK but you have yet to purchase a smartphone from the Galaxy Z series then you’re in for a big surprise. Thanks to a new promotion, Samsung customers that purchase the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G or the Galaxy Z Flip 5G before June 22 will have 60 days at their disposal to decide whether they want to keep the device or trade it in at full purchase price.

This is without a doubt the best time to get on board with the foldable device scene in the UK if you haven’t done so already. Granted, you’ll still have to commit to a fairly big investment since the phone has to be purchased at full price, but you won’t be locked into keeping it in case you find out that you’re not a fan of the foldable concept.

Likewise, you won’t lose any of the phone’s value upon trading-in for a different product, so you’ll be able to exchange it for virtually any other Galaxy flagship phone that has a more conventional design.

Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G gets a permanent £200 price reduction

The good news continues as the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G is available at a reduced price starting today. The foldable flagship used to be sold in the UK for £1,799, but now it can be purchased for £1,599.

It turns out that Samsung hasn’t permanently reduced the Galaxy Z Fold 2 price in South Korea only, and more markets could follow soon. The Galaxy Z Flip 5G remains priced at £1,229.

The 60-day ‘paid’ trial period for the Galaxy Z series can be obtained through Samsung as well as partner retailers including Amazon, AO Mobile, Argos, Carphone Warehouse, Currys PC World, Dixons Travel and more. You can refer to the official Terms & Conditions page for the full list of participating retailers. And in case you need to catch up with the Galaxy Z series, you can check our in-depth reviews linked below.

Analysts: Samsung to post robust Q1 earnings thanks to mobile division

Samsung is expected to post its Q1 earnings guidance next week but preliminary data from market analysts cited by Yonhap News looks promising already. Industry watchers expect Samsung’s robust earnings from the mobile business to have balanced out the company’s poor performance in the semiconductor space.

Analysts predict the company will record 60.64 trillion won ($53.7 billion) in sales, representing a 10.9% year-on-year increase. At the same time, operating profits are estimated to increase by a whopping 38.8% year-on-year and top 8.95 trillion won ($7.92 billion).

Galaxy S21 series comes to the rescue

The early launch of the Galaxy S21 series appears to have had a positive ripple effect across the company’s multiple divisions. Not only is Samsung expected to post strong Galaxy S21 sales figures for Q1, but the flagship’s early launch has also bolstered the OLED business throughout the first quarter of the year.

Similarly, the launch if the iPhone 12 series — equipped with Samsung Display’s OLED solutions — should have contributed to robust OLED results as well, even though sluggish iPhone 12 mini sales have reportedly caused a 9% decrease in OLED panel shipments in January. And speaking of, industry watchers expect Samsung Display’s profits to increase even further in Q2 if Apple will be forced to pay a penalty for buying fewer OLED panels that it has initially ordered.

Average smartphone selling prices are expected to have risen in Q1

Market watchers estimate that Samsung’s total smartphone shipments in Q1 should have reached around 75 million units, up 20.4% quarter-on-quarter. Interestingly enough, analysts also believe that Samsung’s average selling price for mobile products may have risen by 27.1% quarter-on-quarter.

Semiconductors: Win some, lose some

Analysts believe that increased DRAM prices have helped Samsung’s memory business, but on the other hand, the company’s logic chip and foundry divisions may have taken a big hit on the back of its factory in Austin Texas shutting down for weeks. It may have cost the company more than 300 billion won ($265 million).

The good news is that Samsung’s earnings are expected to improve from Q1 to Q2 as its semiconductor business recovers and the Austin facility resumes operations later this month. In addition, Samsung will continue to benefit from increased memory chip prices.

Likewise, researchers believe that NAND flash contract prices are expected to increase by 3-8% in Q2, while DRAM prices are likely to rise by 13-18% QoQ during the same three-month period.

Samsung may soon secure LG’s key display driver and touch IC supplier

Silicon Works is reportedly looking to expand its clientele by supplying DDIs (Display Driver IC) and touch ICs (Integrated Circuits) to Samsung Electronics and Samsung Display, respectively. Silicon Works is the biggest fabless semiconductor design company in South Korea and it has so far bolstered its business by supplying semiconductor solutions to LG Display. The company is to become a key affiliate of LX Group / LX Holdings — a company soon-to-be-split from LG Group and led by Koo Bon-joon.

Silicon Works has been a key partner of LG Display throughout the years, so the idea that it’s looking to secure Samsung — LG’s closest rival — as a client might seem strange at first. Then again, LG Electronics is reportedly considering exiting the smartphone business this year, and even though LG Display would remain one of Silicon Works’ main clients, the latter company could suffer revenue losses.

Samsung could benefit from a more diverse supply chain

Silicon Works is now reportedly looking to secure Samsung Electronics as a client and supply display driver integrated circuits (DDIs) for the company’s smartphones that are scheduled for release in the second half of 2021. At present, Samsung’s smartphones rely on DDIs supplied by the company’s System LSI Business and MagnaChip Semiconductor Corp.

Meanwhile, reports from the local media suggest that it was actually Samsung Display who began looking at Silicon Works as a potential supplier for touch ICs as a way to stabilize supply and demand and diversify its local supply chain.

It’s worth noting that Silicon Works and Samsung have worked together before, though the basis of their previous agreement was different. Being a fabless semiconductor design company, Silicon Works decided to start using Samsung’s foundry last year.

The Silicon Works-Samsung Electronics / Display partnership has yet to be confirmed though, but more details could emerge once LX Group / LX Holdings splits from LG Group later this year.

Samsung is readjusting the Galaxy Z Fold 2 price by ~$500

Samsung’s best foldable device yet is now available at a considerably lower price in South Korea. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 was released in Samsung’s home country last year for 2.398 million won ($2.122) but the same foldable flagship is now available at Samsung’s online store in Korea for 1.892 million won ($1,674).

What’s more is that this doesn’t seem to be a limited-time deal. Reports from the local media suggest that Samsung has permanently lowered the price of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in an attempt to bolster the popularity of its foldable device series. With that in mind, it is possible that Samsung will soon lower the price of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in other markets as well.

Samsung’s preparing for its rivals, or the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Maybe both

Samsung had a head start in the foldable race but a few of its rivals are now readying their own foldable solutions for the market. The Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold was recently unveiled in China where it will hit the shelves for around $1,500, so the recent Z Fold 2 price reduction brings it closer to the same price range.

Samsung may have decided to lower the price of its Galaxy Z Fold 2 because of Xiaomi’s competitive pricing, but then again, the Mi Mix Fold is a China-exclusive device so it shouldn’t be much of a threat for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in other markets.

There’s another potential reason why Samsung has shaved $500 off the Galaxy Z Fold 2 price, and that’s because a sequel is expected to be introduced in about half a year from now. But whether the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be released for a similar $2,000 price as it’s predecessor remains to be seen. Until then, here’s hoping that the Galaxy Z Fold 2 will get a permanent ~$500 price cut overseas as well.

The Galaxy S9 is now getting its fourth Android security update of 2021

The Galaxy S9 series has yet to be demoted to quarterly security patches, and thanks to Samsung’s continued support, the 2018 flagships have received a total of fourth security updates so far this year. The April 2021 security patch is now available for the Galaxy S9 in Europe through a new OTA update that carries firmware version G96xFXXUFFUC6.

More specifically, Samsung has so far released the April 2021 security patch for the Galaxy S9+ variant in Germany. Nevertheless, other markets should follow suit, and the standard Galaxy S9 model shouldn’t be too far behind either.

Enjoy the monthly security updates while they last

Samsung stopped supporting the Galaxy S9 series with major Android OS upgrades after the release of One UI 2.5 last year. Since then, the company kept updating the Galaxy S9 lineup with monthly security updates, but it’s only a matter of time before the series will make the switch to a quarterly security update schedule. This change is expected to take place by the end of the year but there’s no clear indication as to when exactly it will happen.

As for the latest release, Galaxy S9+ owners in Germany should be able to download the April 2021 security update from the Software update section within the Settings app. Alternatively, SamMobile readers can download the new update for the Galaxy S9+ from our firmware archive and install it on their phones via a Windows PC.

Best Samsung Phones in April 2021 – Picked by experts

Given the sheer number of devices that it releases every year, finding the best Samsung phones can often prove to be a challenge for most customers. It doesn’t matter if you want a flagship or a budget device. Samsung offers plenty of options for all price ranges.

To make it easier for you to find the one that best suits your needs, our expert reviewers have created this list of the best Samsung smartphones. We’ll explain precisely why a device has made it on to our list and provide you with links to their detailed reviews. This will help you cut through the noise and really find out what is the best Samsung phone.

Our Best Samsung Phone List For April 2021

Our list for April 2021 has a great mix of devices, helped by the launch of Samsung’s new Galaxy S21 series. We have also included some of good Samsung phones in the mid-range and affordable categories that are currently available.

Best Samsung Phone – Spec monster: Galaxy S21 Ultra

The Galaxy S21 Ultra has big shoes to fill. It follows the Galaxy S21 Ultra which was Samsung’s everything and the kitchen sink phone. Last year’s flagship was packed to the gills with the best that Samsung had to offer. It’s a similar story for the Galaxy S21 Ultra as it remains the company’s undisputed spec monster.

Samsung’s latest high-end flagship features a 6.8-inch display with a 10Hz to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The Galaxy S21 Ultra is capable of hitting the 120Hz refresh rate at the highest WQHD+ resolution. Depending on the market, the Galaxy S21 Ultra will be available with an Exynos 2100 or Snapdragon 888 chipset. It’s paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. No external expansion is possible as the device doesn’t have a microSD card slot.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra retains its predecessor’s 5,000mAh battery. It does get an updated camera setup which includes two telephoto (zoom) cameras capable of achieving 100x Space Zoom. It also gets a whole host of new software features that take full advantage of the camera setup’s capabilities.

There’s even support for the S Pen. The Galaxy S21 Ultra is the first non-Note Galaxy device to get the S Pen. However, one doesn’t ship with the device. You’ll need to buy it separately in addition to a case that lets you carry the S Pen because it doesn’t slide inside the smartphone.

Samsung has once again set the benchmark for the rest of the Android manufacturers. This handset will remain the best Galaxy phone to be released this year. No other Samsung handset due in 2021 will have the kind of specs that this does. Looking beyond what’s under the hood, the Galaxy S21 Ultra also has exceptional build quality and a great design.

Reasons to buy: Powerful cameras, great battery life, exceptional display and top-notch performance.

Who should buy: Loyal Samsung fans, mobile gaming enthusiasts, mobile photographers and vloggers.

Best Samsung Phone – Productivity: Galaxy Note 20 Ultra

There’s no question about it, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra tops our list as the best Samsung phone for productivity. Samsung has made a number of meaningful improvements to its latest flagship smartphone, particularly the S Pen upgrades. The S Pen latency has been dropped to 9ms in order to provide a more fluid and natural experience with the stylus.

The 6.9-inch Galaxy Note 20 Ultra also comes with the latest in smartphone technology as well as 5G support. It happens to be the first Samsung smartphone to feature a dynamic 120Hz refresh rate display.

This is actually the first time that a Samsung phone has had a variable refresh rate. The Galaxy Note 20’s display switches between 10Hz, 30Hz, 60Hz and 120Hz. It depends on whatever’s being shown on the screen. This is done to save power by not using the maximum refresh rate in circumstances where it’s not necessary. Pretty neat.

Samsung has also significantly improved the camera setup compared to its predecessor. There are several new software features and new camera modes that enable customers to get the most out of this $1,299 flagship. All of this makes the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra stand out as one of the top Samsung phones of 2021.

Reasons to buy: Best display on a smartphone, wireless DeX, gorgeous design, enhanced camera functionality and great battery life.

Who should buy: Customers who want the latest Samsung phones, power users, mobile gamers, vloggers and content creators.

Best Samsung Phone – Compact: Galaxy S20 FE

Samsung is out with a new Fan Edition model this year. The Galaxy S20 FE packs many of the best features of the Galaxy S20 series into a more compact package. It uses the same flagship-level chipsets, a 120Hz refresh rate display and a respectable 4,500mAh battery. Samsung has replaced the glass back with plastic and that’s actually a good thing.

The 6.5-inch flat display is great for those who don’t particularly like curved displays. The two 12-megapixel cameras offers similar results as the Galaxy S20+ and it even comes with an 8-megapixel telephoto camera that provides 3x lossless optical zoom. Samsung has also confirmed that it will receive three years of Android OS upgrades. For all of the amazing tech that it offers, the $699 price tag for the 5G variant of the Galaxy S20 FE makes it one of the best value Samsung phones to buy this year.

It’s a good move by the company to offer the Galaxy S20 FE. This enables it to compete against rivals that offer premium, near-flagship like devices for far less than what a traditional flagship would cost. The Galaxy S20 FE allows Samsung to go after those customers as well. That’s what makes it worthy of a place among the top rated Samsung phones of the year.

Reasons to buy: Great design, well-built, great performance, flat AMOLED display and three years of OS upgrades.

Who should buy: Customers who want a flagship-level phone for less, those who don’t want to be worried about breaking the glass back.

Best Samsung Phone – Foldable: Galaxy Z Fold 2

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is the latest and greatest foldable smartphone from Samsung. It brings some major improvements compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Fold. This includes a larger 6.2-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch Infinity Flex display that’s made of Ultra-Thin Glass and has a dynamic 120Hz refresh rate. The design has been improved as well and the hinge is now more durable. It even gets Flex Mode which allows the hinge to free stand at different angles so that the phone can effectively become its own tripod. You can even wirelessly charge it like that!

Under the hood, you’ll find the Snapdragon 865+ processor with 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The top-notch specs make the device a bona fide flagship smartphone and its unique form factor just adds to its appeal. The cameras aren’t exceptional by any means but they are enough to get the job done for most users. There’s tons of new functionality, though, which takes full advantage of the large screen.

It goes without saying that the Galaxy Z Fold 2 deserves a place on this list. It’s truly shaping up to be one of the best Samsung phones ever made.

Reasons to buy: Unique form factor, stylish design, great performance and useful features.

Who should buy: Power users, loyal Samsung fans, hype beasts and influencers.

The 5G variant of the Galaxy A52 features a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Galaxy A52 has plenty of power under the hood courtesy of its Snapdragon 720G chipset. It comes with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The camera setup has been improved significantly. Best Samsung Phone – Budget: Galaxy A31

The Galaxy A31 is a great smartphone for customers on a budget. Despite being a budget handset, it features a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display, 128GB internal storage, a quad camera setup and a very impressive 5,000mAh battery. Its MediaTek Helio P65 chipset isn’t suited to gaming, though, at least when it comes to resource-intensive games like PUBG.

It’s a decent budget smartphone otherwise. The AMOLED display is one of its biggest selling points and so is the 5,000mAh battery. Camera performance is decent as well while the design and build quality are both respectable.

Reasons to buy: AMOLED display, good design, 5,000mAh battery, decent camera performance.

Who should buy: Customers on a tight budget and those who need long-lasting battery life.

Why These Are The Best Samsung Phones This Month

Samsung’s strategy has long been to offer something for everyone. We now have one of Samsung’s most diverse smartphone lineups. You have an absolute spec king in the Galaxy S20 Ultra to the extent of being over the top. The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is certainly one of the best Note devices yet from Samsung as it builds on the feedback from Note loyalists and provides them with improvements they have long been asking for.

The Galaxy Z Flip is in a league of its own when it comes to foldable smartphones. There’s really no true successor for it on the market yet. It’s also a refreshingly unique device, perfect for those who are fed up with the monotony of smartphone design. The Galaxy S10e may have been out for over a year now but it’s still a great value for the kind of specs it offers.

Samsung has capitalized on the Galaxy A50’s popularity for the Galaxy A51 and made it a worthy successor. It’s a solid competitor in the highly lucrative mid-range smartphone market. The Galaxy A51 does everything that you’d expect a device of its caliber to do without breaking a sweat. Lastly, customers won’t have much to complain about with the Galaxy A31. It’s incredibly clear in its purpose and because of that, it’s worthy of being on this list.

What is the newest Samsung phone? – April 2021

It has often been difficult to keep track of the newest Samsung phone given that the company releases so many throughout the year. Samsung has dozens of models across different series which cater to all price ranges. This page will be updated on a monthly basis to ensure that you can always know what is the newest Samsung phone in each series.

The latest Galaxy Phone in every series

Galaxy Z Fold 2

The highly anticipated successor to the original Galaxy Fold has finally been unveiled. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 was made official alongside the new Galaxy Note lineup on August 5. Samsung will start taking pre-orders for the device from September 1. That’s also when the company revealed more details about the device.

It comes with a larger 6.3-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch foldable display at 120Hz refresh rate. The internal display is more durable as its made out of Ultra Thin Glass. It gets flagship-level internals including the Snapdragon 865+ with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Check our Galaxy Z Fold 2 specs page for the detailed specs of this device.

The camera setup of this device includes a 12-megapixel primary sensor paired with a 12-megapixel ultra wide and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is available for pre-order now and will be released on September 18. It costs $1,999 and is offered in Mystic Black and Mystic Bronze color options.

Galaxy Z Flip

Samsung’s second foldable smartphone wasn’t launched as part of its Galaxy Fold series. The company decided to launch it as the Galaxy Z Flip instead. The Galaxy Z Flip was released in February 2020 and has quickly become one of the most highly sought after foldable smartphones on the market, and for good reason.

As we point out in our Galaxy Z Flip review, the device feels surprisingly normal despite the fact that it can fold in half into something you can easily wrap your hand around. It features 2019 flagship-level specs with a Snapdragon 855+ processor, 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. There’s also a 12-megapixel f/1.8 wide-angle camera and a 12-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide camera at the back. Selfie duties are handled by a 10-megapixel f/2.4 camera embedded in a punch hole in the 6.7-inch foldable display. It also has a combined battery capacity of 3,300mAh.

The Galaxy Z Flip is available far more widely than the Galaxy Fold was. It costs $1,380 and comes in three colors – Mirror Purple, Mirror Black and in select markets, Mirror Gold.

Galaxy Note

August is Galaxy Note month and right on cue, Samsung has unveiled two new handsets this time around as well. The Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra are now official and available for pre-order. They’ll go on sale come August 21.

There are some major differences between the two models. The Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra feature a 6.7-inch flat FHD+ display and a 6.9-inch Quad HD+ curved display with dynamic 120Hz refresh rate. The former doesn’t have a microSD card slot while the latter does. Both don’t support 45W super fast charging, maxing out at 25W instead.

While the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra retains the signature metal and glass build that Samsung flagships have become familiar far, the Galaxy Note 20 only gets a plastic back. That’s a surprising decision Samsung has made this year, in addition to not offering 120Hz refresh rate on the smaller handset.

They also use the same Exynos 990/Snapdragon 865+ chipsets with the Note 20 only getting 8GB RAM while the Ultra gets a 12GB RAM configuration as well with up to 512GB of storage. Check out our hands-on to learn more about these phones and visit our devices page for the full Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra specs.

Prices start at $999 and $1,299 for the 5G Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra respectively.

Galaxy S

Samsung unveiled its highly anticipated flagship lineup for 2021. The newest Samsung phones in the Galaxy S lineup are now the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and the Galaxy S21 Ultra. All three handsets are powered by the Exynos 2100/Snapdragon 888 chipset depending on the region. Samsung is offering different RAM and storage options on the variants.

The display supports adaptive refresh rate and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. Samsung has also revamped the design with a new Contour Cut camera housing that adds a touch of class to the device. It has taken away expandable storage, though, so there’s no microSD card slot on the entire lineup.

The Galaxy S21 is the entry-level device and also the smallest of them all. It features a 6.2-inch FHD+ flat display. Samsung has opted for a plastic back on this device instead of glass. Its camera setup includes a 12-megapixel f/2.2 ultrawide, 12-megapixel f/1.8 wide with OIS and 64-megapixel telephoto f/2.0 camera with OIS and 3x zoom. There’s also a 10-megapixel front camera. A 4,000mAh battery keeps the lights on with support for 25W fast charging. The Galaxy S21 is available in 128/256GB storage with 8GB of RAM.

Samsung has given the Galaxy S21+ a larger 6.7-inch FHD+ display. It also gets a flat panel but has glass on the back instead of plastic. This device has the same camera setup as the Galaxy S21. It’s also offered in 128/256GB storage capacities with 8GB of RAM. The Galaxy S21+ has a slightly larger 4,800mAh battery compared to its predecessor.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra is Samsung’s ultimate flagship. It comes with a 6.8-inch WQHD+ curved display that supports 120Hz refresh rate at the highest resolution. The camera setup puts the device in a league of its own. There’s Samsung’s latest 108-megapixel primary sensor, 12-megapixel ultra-wide and two 10-megapixel telephoto cameras with 3x and 10x optical zoom.

The handset offers an impressive 100x Space Zoom. A laser autofocus module is present as well. There’s a 40-megapixel camera up front for selfies. The Galaxy S21 Ultra has a 5,000mAh battery and is available in 128/256/512GB storage with up to 16GB of RAM.

Samsung has slightly reduced the prices for its 2021 flagship lineup. The Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and the Galaxy S21 Ultra start at $799, $999 and $1,199 respectively. The devices went on sale January 29. Check out Galaxy S21/Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra hands-on for our thoughts on the new devices.

Galaxy Fan Edition

Samsung has brought back the Fan Edition moniker and has also confirmed that it will release new Fan Edition models of its flagships every year. It’s kicking things off with the Galaxy S20 FE which is being marketed as a flagship in its own right.

Unveiled in September 2020, the Galaxy S20 FE brings many of the best features that were introduced with the Galaxy S20 lineup earlier this year. It gets a 6.5-inch FHD+ flat 120Hz refresh rate display, the same Exynos 990/Snapdragon 865 chipset, stereo speakers, a large 4,500mAh battery and three years of Android OS upgrades.

The Galaxy S20 FE also comes with a triple-camera system at the back which includes a 12-megapixel wide and 12-megapixel sensor in addition to an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and 30x Space Zoom. A 32-megapixel camera is present up front.

Samsung is now selling the Galaxy S20 FE. Prices start at $699 for the 5G variant in the United States.

Galaxy A

Samsung has significantly expanded its Galaxy A series over the past couple of years. It now offers over a dozen smartphones across all price ranges. You can get a entry level device like the Galaxy A10 and a 5G-capable device like the Galaxy A90 5G.

The Galaxy A52, Galaxy A52 5G and the Galaxy A72 are the latest Galaxy devices in this series. Samsung has launched its revamped mid-rangers recently. It has made substantial upgrades under the hood in addition to a more refined design.

Featuring a 6.5-inch 90Hz refresh rate display, the Galaxy A52 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720G chipset with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. The handset comes with a 4,500mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging. The 5G variant gets a 120Hz refresh rate display and the Snapdragon 750G chipset.

The camera setup includes a 64-megapixel optically stabilized main sensor paired with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide, 5-megapixel depth and 5-megapixel macro camera. A 32-megapixel front camera is present as well. Prices for the Galaxy A52 start at €349.

The Galaxy A72 comes with a 6.7-inch 90Hz refresh rate display, a Snapdragon 720G processor with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The lights are kept on by a 5,000mAh battery that has support for 25W fast charging.

In the camera department, you get a 64-megapixel primary sensor with OIS, an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical and up to 30x digital zoom, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide as well as a 5-megapixel macro camera. There’s also a 32-megapixel selfie camera upfront. Prices start at €449.

Galaxy M

Samsung introduced its Galaxy M lineup earlier this year. It’s a new budget lineup aimed primarily at India with features that were previously never seen on devices in this price range from Samsung. The series is also unique in that Samsung only sells the Galaxy M devices online.

The Galaxy M51 is currently the latest handset in this budget series. It comes with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with a Snapdragon 730G chipset paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage. The handset runs the latest version of One UI Core out of the box. All of this is paired with a massive 7,000mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging.

The rear quad camera includes a 64-megapixel primary, 12-megapixel ultra-wide and 5-megapixel depth camera in addition to a 5-megapixel macro sensor. There’s a 32-megapixel camera upfront.

Samsung is now taking pre-orders for the Galaxy M51 in Germany for 360 euro in blue and black colors. It will be available in markets like India soon.

Bear in mind that this list only tells you about the newest Samsung phone in every series, not what’s the best in a given price range. It’s to show you what the latest phone is so that you know what to look out for when buying a new Samsung smartphone.

Best Samsung Galaxy Tablets in April 2021

Nobody makes Android tablets the way Samsung does. The company is an outlier as it still comes out with a flagship Android tablet every year. As part of the company’s vision to offer something for everyone, Samsung’s lineup also includes mid-range and affordable options. Its flagship tablets have really come into their own over the past few years.

This variety can often present a challenge to those who just want to know what the best Samsung Galaxy tablets are. To help them out, we have created this list of best Samsung tablets which breaks down the strength of each option and explains who should buy them, and why. In addition to detailed information about each tablet, you’ll also find links to our in-depth reviews for these tablets.

Our Best Samsung Tablets List For April 2021

Samsung has treated us to two new high-end tablets this year. This is the first time that we’re seeing it launch two separate models of its flagship tablet. The Galaxy Tab S7+ is accompanied by the Galaxy Tab S7. Some of the company’s earlier tablets have also made it on the list as they offer good value for money.

Best Samsung Tablet – Spec monster: Galaxy Tab S7+

The Galaxy Tab S7+ is surely one of the best tablets that Samsung has ever made. It has a beautiful metal build and feels absolutely premium. It also happens to be the first flagship tablet from Samsung to feature a 12.4-inch display. It’s not just any display, either. This Super AMOLED panel has a buttery smooth 120Hz refresh rate.

It’s powered by a top-of-the-line chipset and paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. There’s also a chunky 10,090mAh battery. 5G support is present onboard. The Galaxy Tab S7+ is an absolute productivity champ with features like Multi-Active Window and wireless DeX. Samsung has also improved its S Pen by reducing latency and added more functionality.

Reasons to buy: Big and beautiful display, 120Hz refresh rate, great performance and battery life.

Who should buy: Customers who need a tablet for their work from home setup and enterprise customers for business applications.

Best Samsung Tablet – Productivity: Galaxy Tab S6

Much like its successor, the Galaxy Tab S6 was undoubtedly the best Android tablet to be released in 2019. It was also the first time that Samsung shipped its flagship tablet with the latest high-end chipset. Samsung initially released the LTE model only but later followed up with a separate 5G model.

The Galaxy Tab S6 also happened to be the first Samsung tablet to feature a dual camera setup at the back. Despite being a year old, it’s still one of the best Samsung tablets for its $729 price tag, and can often be purchased at a discount these days. That’s because it offers a better display than the base Galaxy Tab S7 and there’s really no significant difference in performance.

Reasons to buy: Great build quality, separate 5G variant, Super AMOLED display and dual cameras.

Who should buy: Anyone who needs a powerful Android tablet and feels that the Galaxy Tab S7+ is just too much for them.

Best Samsung Tablet – Entertainment: Galaxy Tab S5e

Do you only need a tablet to watch Netflix, occasionally browse the internet and use social media apps? The Galaxy Tab S5e is the best option for you. Granted, all of this can also be done by the most basic of tablets, but there won’t be any frustrating performance issues with the Galaxy Tab S5e.

The $479 Galaxy Tab S5e was Samsung’s thinnest tablet when it came out, yet it got a beautiful metal build and a gorgeous 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display. You really can’t beat the quality of Samsung’s AMOLED display and watching video content on it is truly a visual delight. Rich sound is provided by its AKG-tuned quad speakers, making it a well-rounded device for chilling with on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Reasons to buy: Incredibly light and thin, exceptional display, quad speakers and side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Who should buy: Customers who want a tablet purely for the purpose of consuming multimedia content.

Best Samsung Tablet – S Pen on a budget: Galaxy Tab S6 Lite

Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite earlier this year with the sole purpose of bringing the S Pen to the masses. Previously, one needed to purchase Samsung’s flagship tablet just to get the S Pen experience. With the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, Samsung has significantly lowered that barrier of entry.

It still feels sufficiently premium thanks to its metal body. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite also has something that none of the tablets mentioned above have: a 3.5mm headphone jack. Don’t expect a gorgeous AMOLED panel, though, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has a 10.4-inch LCD display. The tablet isn’t suited to heavy workloads but if you don’t need that much power, at $429 it’s a great option for those who want the S Pen experience without breaking the bank. It’s often available for purchase online at a decent discount.

Reasons to buy: Affordable, S Pen, 3.5mm headphone jack and good build quality.

Who should buy: Those that don’t require a powerful tablet but would like to have the S Pen experience without spending a fortune.

Why These Are The Best Samsung Tablets This Month

The Galaxy Tab S7+ is absolutely one of the best tablets that Samsung has made. It’s packed to the gills with tech and is a great fit for any work from home setup. There’s no question about it being on the list of best Samsung tablets. The same can’t be said for the Galaxy Tab S7, though, which is why the Galaxy Tab S6 finds its way on the list. Even though it’s a year old, it’s still a great option for those who need a productivity tool but don’t necessarily feel the need to buy the latest model.

Samsung continues to sell the Galaxy Tab S5e as well because it fits nicely into its tablet lineup. This isn’t really meant for any heavy workloads but is a great option for watching content. The display is gorgeous and the tablet itself is impossibly thin, making for a very comfortable user experience.

Lastly, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a viable option for customers who want to experience the S Pen on a large display but don’t need a flagship tablet. It offers them the opportunity to experience the best of what the S Pen has to offer at a reasonable price point.
