Samsung begins mass production of 90Hz OLED panels for laptops

Samsung had revealed its first OLED panels for laptops a few months ago. The company mentioned that it had received interest from multiple laptop vendors for its OLED displays. The South Korean firm has now announced that it has started the mass production of laptop OLED panels.

The company’s 90Hz OLED panels with Full HD resolution have been used in the recently announced ASUS ZenBook and VivoBook Pro laptops. Samsung Display mentioned that its OLED panels are also being used by Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Samsung Electronics. It is being rumored that even Apple could use Samsung’s OLED screens in the future. The company also makes 16-inch OLED panels with 4K resolution.

OLED screens offer more immersive colors, deeper blacks, faster response times, and wider viewing angles than LCD panels. Even HDR and gaming content will look better on OLEDs compared to LCDs. More high-end laptops will start using OLED screens in the future.

Samsung Display said, “The 90Hz OLED panel offers more options for consumers who are looking to enjoy high-performance content on their laptops. With our innovative OLEDs, we’re further pioneering and leading the market in display technologies that offer superior image quality.ASUS ZenBook OLED Screen Samsung Display

Galaxy S22 and S22+ might not use Samsung’s best 50MP camera sensor

We are still a few months away from the launch of the Galaxy S22 series. However, some details regarding Samsung’s upcoming high-end smartphones have already been leaked. It was revealed a few weeks ago that the Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+ would come with an upgraded primary camera sensor with 50MP resolution. Now, it has been revealed that it isn’t Samsung’s best 50MP ISOCELL sensor.

According to tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce), the Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+ will use Samsung’s recently-launched ISOCELL GN5 camera sensor. It is a 1/1.57-inch sensor with a native 50MP resolution and 1μm pixel size.

The ISOCELL GN5 can capture 12.5MP images (2μm pixels) in the 4-in-1 pixel binning mode and 100MP images using a remosaic algorithm. It features Dual Pixel Pro autofocus for faster focusing, Front Deep Trench Isolation for lower noise, Smart-ISO, Smart ISO Pro, multi-frame sampling, and staggered HDR. It can capture 8K 30fps videos and 4K 120fps slow-motion videos as well.

Samsung ISOCELL GN5 50MP Camera Sensor

While it improves over the 12MP 1/1.76-inch sensor used in the Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S21+, it is still not Samsung’s best 50MP sensor. We would’ve liked to see the South Korean firm’s upcoming high-end phones use the ISOCELL GN1 (1/1.31-inch) or the ISOCELL GN2 (1/1.12-inch) as both sensors are bigger than the ISOCELL GN5 and can capture better images due to larger native pixels.

It is being rumored that the Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+ will feature a triple-camera setup at the rear, consisting of a 50MP wide-angle camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. Thanks to a native zoom lens, the Galaxy S22 duo could offer better zoom performance compared to the Galaxy S21 duo, which uses a 64MP sensor and zoom in digitally.

Android 12 adds eSIM support to the Galaxy S21 in the USA

Android 12 and One UI 4.0 for the Galaxy S21 series may be light on big new features, but it’s packed with more than 60 not-so-big ones that make the user experience a great deal better than it was on Android 11 and One UI 3.0.

And, for US customers, the first One UI 4.0 beta that Samsung released this week brings a feature that has been available to Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra users in other markets since launch: eSIM support.

The Galaxy S21 lineup (and other Samsung flagships) comes with a dual SIM tray in most markets and also allows the use of an eSIM, effectively making them triple-SIM phones (though only the second physical SIM or the eSIM can be active at any given moment). But eSIM support doesn’t come enabled in some countries, and the USA was one of those until the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 beta came along.

Samsung also enabled eSIM support on the T-Mobile variant of the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra earlier this year with a random security update. Naturally, since One UI 4.0 is in the beta phase at the moment, most Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra owners will have to wait until later this year to receive eSIM functionality when the stable Android 12 and One UI 4.0 update is rolled out publicly.

Or, if you don’t feel like waiting, you can join the One UI 4.0 beta program if you have a T-Mobile, Sprint, or unlocked Galaxy S21 model. The signup process is easy, but be warned that the beta might not be stable enough for day-to-day use yet and it would be a good idea to backup all your important data beforehand.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 one month review: Still amazing?

Last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 2 was already a solid device, and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 brought all manner of upgrades and improvements that made it a no-brainer for anyone looking for a foldable phone with $1800 to spare. Or at least that’s what we thought when we first reviewed the phone.

How is the Galaxy Z Fold 3 holding up now, a little over a month after we started using it? Is it still a phone we recommend? Has our opinion of the phone and the user experience it offers changed after the somewhat longer-term use?

Apple’s ‘copied’ Samsung with the iPhone 13, but is that the whole story?

Apple launched the iPhone 13 series along with iOS 15 yesterday, and as usual, the event was peppered with marketing buzzwords and claims of “new” features debuting with the latest iPhone models. But the evolution of mobile phones isn’t quite as linear as Apple’s painting it to be. Apple is gaining inspiration from its rivals just as much as rivals are gaining inspiration from Apple every year. And as expected, various “new” features unveiled by Apple yesterday were obviously inspired by existing features in Android OS or Samsung’s One UI.

Of course, this makes Apple an easy target for Android and/or Samsung enthusiasts. Even Samsung went ahead and took a potshot at Apple for being so late on joining the 120Hz display crowd.

However, the new iPhones introduce a few other features aside from 120Hz, yet Samsung was in no rush to tell you about those. Perhaps for good reason. iOS 15 comes with a new feature similar to Bixby Vision, a new Cinematic camera mode that resembles Samsung’s Portrait Video mode at first glance, and even extensions to the Safari mobile browser.

And although it’s easy to make fun of Apple for failing to be overly innovative at this year’s event – especially after Samsung’s incredible push at Galaxy Unpacked – Apple still does what it does best. As such, the features Apple seemingly copied appear to have been implemented with a lot of care.

A good example is mobile browser extensions. This feature has been around for Galaxy smartphone and tablet users for some time now, but the list of extensions in Samsung Internet looks borderline depressing now compared to Apple’s Safari extensions for iOS 15, especially since Safari is not a mobile-exclusive browser and works with desktop environments — therefore it has tons of additional extensions and better cross-platform features.

Another example is Apple’s new Cinematic camera mode. It has bokeh effects similar to Samsung’s Portrait Video mode, but Apple took it to a new level with rack focus and the ability to edit effects in post (after the video is captured). It uses AI to focus from one subject to another, and it can create a real cinematic mood. That’s quite a step up from a simple bokeh effect, no matter how much we’d like to claim that Cinematic and Portrait Video modes are the same.

And finally, although we have had Bixby Vision for years, Samsung appears to be giving up on this feature, or at least it no longer pushes it to the forefront as it used to. In One UI 3.1, it’s hidden inside the Camera app and can’t be added as a quick mode, but at least it can be summoned through Bixby Voice using the “open Bixby Vision” voice command. Meanwhile, Apple is now promoting its new voice-controlled intelligent interface with live translate and object recognition features.

Bixby Vision can perform some tasks, but anyone who has used it will let you know that the experience is not perfect and there are many features that are lacking or seem incomplete. With that in mind, it’s not hard to believe that Apple’s implementation looks superior. And it’s a shame, given the fact that Samsung had a head start of a few years.

At the end of the day, Apple is far from original. OEMs copy and get inspiration from one another constantly, and we all know this by now. But in some regards, Apple’s been more successful at it than others. And now that the Cupertino tech company has committed to these new features such as mobile browser extensions and a Bixby Vision-like intelligent interface, Apple customers can rest easy knowing that they’ll be supported for at least a few years from now. Which is something Android smartphone users, in general, can never be too sure of.

Then again, iOS has its own shortcomings and (many) limitations, which is why a lot of people stick with Android and/or One UI. And fortunately, Samsung fans have One UI 4.0 to look forward to. There are tons of great new features in Android 12 and One UI 4.0 beta, and we’ve listed over 60 so far! Besides, Samsung is leading the way in terms of regular firmware updates and security patches, and this is one of the many reasons why it’s the Android smartphone brand of choice for millions worldwide.

Our top 5 One UI 4.0 beta features on the Galaxy S21

Samsung released the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 Beta update to the Galaxy S21 series earlier this week. The update is currently available in South Korea, the US, and Germany, but more markets will get access to the update very soon. The new software brings a slightly improved UI design, smoother animations and transitions, and a lot of new software features.

Apart from features that Google introduced with the stock version of Android 12, Samsung has added its own set of features to improve the user experience on Galaxy devices. We’ve showcased almost all the new features and design improvements in our One UI 4.0 hands-on videos, and here are our top five One UI 4.0 features among all those.

1. Smoother UI animations and transitions

One UI 4.0 feels smoother on the Galaxy S21 series when compared to One UI 3. Be it animations, scrolling, or transitions, everything seems a little bit smoother and more cohesive. Users will be pleased to notice this improvement in day-to-day usage.

2. Improved privacy

Improved privacy is the need of the hour, and One UI 4.0 brings a lot of privacy-related improvements. You can now check the Permissions Usage History feature to see which apps have accessed your phone’s camera, clipboard, microphone, and location data. There is a privacy indicator at the top right corner of the screen to notify you when any app uses your phone’s camera or microphone.

You can instantly disable or enable camera and microphone access using new quick setting toggles. You can also choose whether an app can access your approximate or precise location. For example, Google Maps or Uber might need your precise location, but the Weather app doesn’t.

3. New widgets on the lock screen and home screen

You can now do more right from the lock screen of your Galaxy smartphone. Samsung has introduced the ability to initiate voice recording using the new lock screen widget. The media player widget on the lock screen now allows changing the audio output target, which means that you can choose audio output to connected Bluetooth earphones, the phone’s loudspeaker, a Google Cast device, Music Share, or Smart View. There is a new Calendar widget that displays a month view along with today’s entries. The same widget can also be used on the home screen.

4. Turn on Always On Display when receiving a notification

This is a very handy feature. We all love the AoD (Always-on Display) feature on Galaxy smartphones, but it can consume a lot of power. So, Samsung has added the ability to display the AoD screen only when you get a new notification.

5. Camera app UI improvements

The ability to start recording videos from the Photo mode has been improved. You could already hold the shutter button to start video recording in Photo mode, but you can now drag that button to the lock-shaped icon to let the video recording continue even when you lift your finger.

Moreover, in the Video mode, the phone starts recording as soon as you touch the shutter button. Earlier, the video recording would start when you touch and leave the button, losing key moments in your life. The camera app also shows more understandable icons for zoom ranges. The buttons are now labelled 0.6x, 1x, 3x and so on. Earlier they had leaf-based shapes, which were a little hard to understand, especially for the average customer.

You can check out all other One UI 4.0 design changes and new features in the video below. If you like the video, don’t forget to hit the like button and subscribe to our YouTube channel to watch more such content in the future.

Love Good Lock? You’ll lose access to some features on One UI 4.0 beta

The One UI 4.0 beta program went live for the Galaxy S21 series yesterday, and fans in several countries can sign up through the Members app and test the beta firmware before it’s ready for a widespread release. As usual, it’s not advised to install beta firmware on your daily driver, and there are certain limitations to consider. For instance, not every Good Lock module is compatible with the One UI 4.0 beta firmware.

A Samsung Community representative addressed this earlier today and confirmed that only a limited number of Good Lock modules are available to One UI 4.0 beta testers. Namely: LockStar, Routine+, One Hand Operation+, Pentastic, Wonderland, ThemePark, NiceCatch, and Edge Touch.

No more Good Lock modules will become available throughout the beta

The Good Lock modules mentioned above will be the only ones available throughout the beta period. According to the Community Manager, the remaining Good Lock module unsupported in One UI 4.0 beta will become available once the beta period ends and One UI 4.0 reaches the public.

Samsung wants to bring One UI 4.0 to the public as soon as possible; however, testing software takes time, and the company will want to make sure that One UI 4.0 is in a good state before it reaches customers. The tech giant aims to release “a final, optimized [One UI 4.0] upgrade later this year.”

As for Good Lock, unfortunately, the experimental platform remains limited to a little over a dozen countries, though there are reasons for its limited reach — the word “experimental” should be a clue. Nevertheless, Samsung confirmed earlier this summer that new Good Lock features are on the way. The company also hinted that the platform could be released in more regions soon.

Keep in mind that the first One UI 4.0 beta build introduces over 60 new features, so there’s a lot to look forward to, even if the beta firmware doesn’t support every Good Lock module.

Samsung to recover premium market share lost to Apple with Z3 foldables

Samsung continues trailing behind Apple in the premium smartphone segment, reveals a new paper from Counterpoint Research. The data shows that Apple remained the leading premium smartphone vendor in Q2 2021, while Samsung followed Apple with a smaller market share than it had a year ago.

Counterpoint Research defines “premium smartphones” as devices that cost at least $400. Essentially, every iPhone released by Apple over the past 12 months is considered a premium smartphone by the market analyst. On the other hand, Samsung’s product portfolio covers a much wider price range, from the low end market to the luxurious $2,000 foldable segment.

In any case, Apple reportedly had a premium smartphone market share of 57% by the end of Q2 2021, up from 48% a year ago. Meanwhile, Samsung’s premium market share in Q2 2021 stood at 17%, down from 22%.

Samsung to regain premium market share in H2 with Z3 foldables

Huawei saw a massive drop in market share from 17% to 6%, but this doesn’t appear to have helped Samsung much, as it was Apple who seems to have captured most of Huawei’s lost market share.

As far as each market is concerned, Apple is leading the way globally — including in China — while Samsung got the silver medal in North and Latin America, Europe, the APAC region, and the Middle East and Africa.

The good news, at least according to the market watcher, is that Samsung is likely to gain market share in the second half of the year, thanks to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 launching for lower prices than their predecessors did last year.

Samsung takes potshots at the iPhone 13’s 120Hz screens

Samsung and Apple have traded blows for what seems to be decades now. More often than not, it is Samsung poking fun at Apple for removing key features and promptly doing the same a year or two later. This time around, the official Samsung U.S. Twitter handle poked fun at Apple for calling the 120Hz screen on its iPhone 13s a ‘new’ feature.

The not-so-subtle jab by Samsung says, “We’ve been refreshing at 120Hz for a while now,” referring to the Galaxy S20 series, which was the company’s first to ship with high-refresh-rate displays. With the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Samsung introduced adaptive refresh rate technology and has used it on all of its flagships since. On the other hand, only the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max support a 120Hz refresh rate.

Apple did 120Hz screens before Samsung, even if it wasn’t on a phone

Then again, Samsung isn’t even the first OEM to install a high-refresh-rate display on its smartphones. That accolade goes to 2017’s Razer Phone, which was the first to adopt a 120Hz (LCD) panel. Even Apple joined the 120Hz party later that year with its iPad Pro. We’ll never know why Apple decided to keep the feature exclusive to its high-end tablets for this long, though.

Samsung is correct in stating that Apple is one of the last smartphone makers to adopt high-refresh-rate screens. However, Samsung isn’t exactly ahead of the queue, either. Many competing offerings from the likes of OnePlus and Xiaomi offered high-refresh-rate screens well before they made their debut on the Galaxy S20 series.

Galaxy Book Flex 3 Alpha visits the FCC while running Windows 11 Pro

Samsung appears to be developing a direct sequel to the Galaxy Book Flex 2 Alpha in anticipation of Microsoft’s big Windows 11 announcement next month. A yet-to-be-released Samsung laptop was discovered recently at the FCC (via LaptopUnderBudget), and its model number strongly suggests that it’s a new entry in the Book Flex Alpha lineup.

The unannounced laptop has model number NP750, whereas the ongoing Galaxy Book Flex 2 Alpha is known by model number NP730, so there’s obviously a connection. The FCC documents also revealed Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 2.4G/5G connectivity, along with a battery that carries model number AA-PBAN6TI. It’s not a new model and should have a capacity of around 6,800mAh.

Powered by Intel and Windows 11 Pro

The Galaxy Book Flex 3 Alpha — or whatever this laptop ends up being called — runs Windows 11 Pro, as confirmed by the FCC application. In addition, it’s powered by an unspecified Intel processor, but it’s worth noting that the Galaxy Book Flex 2 was announced earlier this year with 11th Gen Intel i5 and i7 CPU options. In theory, the Galaxy Book Flex 3 Alpha should offer no less.

As for Windows 11 Pro, Microsoft is expected to launch the OS at the beginning of October. Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Book Flex 3 Alpha could very well be amongst the first laptops to feature Windows 11 Pro out of the box. After all, the two companies continue cooperating for better cross-compatibility, and already, Samsung laptops will reportedly be able to run Android apps natively on Windows 11.

Galaxy A52s 5G review: A mid-range phone with flagship performance

The Galaxy A52 and the Galaxy A52 5G are two of the finest mid-range phones ever from Samsung. But the global chip shortage seems to have played havoc with Samsung’s plans to keep selling the two handsets, which is evident by how they are out of stock in quite a few markets, and it seems that’s the reason why Samsung decided to make the Galaxy A52s 5G.

The A52s 5G is the same device as the A52 5G in every respect except one: It is powered by the Snapdragon 778G, a 6nm chip that offers extreme performance despite not being a flagship-grade chip like the Qualcomm’s 8-series chips that power Samsung’s top-of-the-line phones.

That means it’s easy for us to quickly get to a verdict here in this review: The Galaxy A52s 5G is amazing. It’s got everything that makes the Galaxy A52 so good – fantastic high refresh rate AMOLED display (now running at 120Hz instead of 90Hz), stereo speakers, excellent main camera with optical image stabilization, awesome battery life with 25W charging, Samsung’s excellent software with a promise of three major OS upgrades, and a water-resistant design.

And thanks to the Snapdragon 778G processor, you’re now getting what can only be described as top-of-the-line performance. I literally saw no reason to go back to a flagship Galaxy phone while using the Galaxy A52s. It can handle everything you can throw at it and not break a sweat. 12-band 5G support is part of the package, as well, though this wasn’t something I was able to test as there are no 5G networks in India at this time.

The only thing that disappointed me about the A52s 5G is that Samsung didn’t switch out the macro camera at the rear for a telephoto lens. It’s the one feature that could have made the A52s a perfect mid-range phone, but I guess Samsung didn’t do it because it wants to continue selling the Galaxy A72 and also because it doesn’t want to encroach on the territory occupied by 2020’s Galaxy S20 FE.

Still, if you’re in the market for a new 5G-enabled mid-range phone that performs like a flagship device without cutting too deep into your pockets, the Galaxy A52s 5G is a top-notch option you should seriously consider.

For a deep dive into features like the display, cameras, battery life, and software, check out our Galaxy A52 review.

New leak suggests the Exynos 2200 will pack serious firepower

Samsung’s Exynos 2200 chipset has made a few appearances on popular benchmarking platforms. Its Geekbench showing was quite underwhelming, though. Thankfully, it did a whole lot better on the graphics-intensive GFXBench. Now, a new leak spills the beans on the Exynos 2200’s clock speeds but leaves out a few key details. The leak also tells us that the Exynos 2200 sample found on Geekbench was running at reduced speeds.

Prolific leaker Ice Universe has just revealed that the Exynos 2200 will have three CPU clusters. The ‘prime’ Cortex-X2 core will be clocked at 2.9 GHz. The next cluster will have three cores operating at 2.8 GHz and the final one will have four cores clocked at 2.2 GHz. While it isn’t explicitly mentioned, the former will very likely use ARM’s new Cortex-A710 cores and the latter Cortex-A510.

Ice Universe also adds that this particular configuration will be exclusive to the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ could be configured differently.

The Exynos 2200’s AMD GPU will be blazing fast

We’ve seen the AMD Radeon-powered GPU on the Exynos 2200 decimate all competition many times now, probably because it is clocked at a whopping 1,250 MHz. To put things in perspective, that is almost as much as the desktop-grade Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. This information sits in line with an earlier report which told us that the GPU would operate at 1,300 MHz.

While the Exynos 2200’s specs look good on paper, cooling it will be quite the challenge. The AMD GPU’s release got pushed back by a year due to bad thermals. That might not happen again, but the final product could be nerfed a little to keep temperatures in check. For the most part, the GPU could still outperform the competition, but we can’t say the same for the CPU.

Samsung has long struggled with keeping its chips chilly, and the Exynos 2200 could prove to be the most daunting challenge the company has to face so far. If it does, the Exynos 2200 has the potential to be the most powerful Android SoC of the generation; something that will help Samsung regain the market share it lost over the years.

Galaxy S22 Ultra rumored to support 45W charging

Charging speeds on smartphones are a hot topic… if all you’re looking at is smartphones made by Chinese manufacturers, who keep trying to one-up each other by introducing faster and faster charging on every new phone. Samsung doesn’t play that game, however, and in the last two years, the company has actually downgraded the charging speed specification on its flagship devices.

Samsung introduced 45W charging with the Galaxy Note 10+ back in 2019 and also added it to the Galaxy S20 Ultra before ultimately going back to 25W with the Galaxy S21 series. However, rumors have suggested that the Galaxy S22 series — or at least the Galaxy S22 Ultra — will once again introduce a charging speed upgrade.

Does reintroducing an old feature count as an upgrade?

65W support was said to be in testing for the Galaxy S22 Ultra, but the latest tweet from tipster Ice universe suggests Samsung is simply going to bring back support for 45W charging to its premier flagship lineup. And considering how many features Samsung has been cutting back on in recent times, we guess even that would be more than enough to make some of its fans happy. Of course, whether or not we get 45W or 65W charging on the Galaxy S22 series, you can rest assured that you will have to buy the charger separately.

As far as battery capacity is concerned, the Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22 Ultra are expected to keep the same 4,000 mAh and 5,000 mAh batteries as their predecessors. The Galaxy S22+, on the other hand, will feature a 4,500 mAh battery, same as the Galaxy S20+ instead of the Galaxy S21+.

Blood pressure monitoring on Galaxy Watches could help Parkinson’s disease patients

All recent Samsung smartwatches—Galaxy Watch Active 2, Galaxy Watch 3, and Galaxy Watch 4 series—feature blood pressure monitoring. A recent study published in the medical journal Frontiers in Neurology has revealed that blood pressure monitoring on Galaxy Watches could help patients with Parkinson’s disease easily manage Orthostatic Hypotension (OH).

Orthostatic Hypotension, a common issue found among Parkinson’s disease patients, is a form of low blood pressure caused by blood vessels failing to constrict. It comes with risks of falls among elderly patients or those who have heart-related issues. Galaxy Watches with blood pressure monitoring can help detect fluctuations for diagnosing and managing Parkinson’s disease.

The Galaxy Watch Active 2, Galaxy Watch 3, Galaxy Watch 4, and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic use pulse wave analysis using heart rate sensors to monitor blood pressure. Samsung Medical Center’s Dr. Jin Whan Cho and Dr. Jong Hyeon Ahn compared blood pressure readings of the Galaxy Watch 3 with a sphygmomanometer to compare the accuracy of Samsung’s smartwatches. The test found that readings from the Galaxy Watch 3 were comparable.

The test was conducted on 56 patients with an average age of 66.9 years. The mean and standard deviations of the differences between the Galaxy Watch 3 and the sphygmomanometer were 0.4 ± 4.6 mmHg for systolic BP (SBP). For diastolic BP (DBP), the deviations were 1.1 ± 4.5 mmHg. The correlation coefficient (r) between them was 0.967 for SBP and 0.916 for DBP, which means that the two devices are extremely close.

The research team said, “Orthostatic hypotension is a common and challenging symptom that affects people living with PD. But it is hard to screen just by observing symptoms, and the problem may go undetected when measuring BP. If we could use a smartwatch to measure patients’ BP regularly and detect potential issues at an early stage, it would really help treat and manage PD.

The blood pressure monitoring is available on select Galaxy Watches via the Samsung Health Monitor app in the following countries:

Galaxy F41 gets a new update with September 2021 security patch

Samsung started rolling out the September 2021 security update in late August, and the Galaxy S20 FE was the first phone to get that update. Over the past three weeks, the company has released the new security update to various high-end and mid-range smartphones. Now, the South Korean firm has released the update to the Galaxy F41.

The Galaxy F41 has started getting a new software update in India. It comes with firmware version F415FXXU1BUH7 and includes the September 2021 security patch. Samsung had revealed last week that its latest security patch fixes over 50 privacy and security-related vulnerabilities. The new update for the Galaxy F41 might also include general bug fixes and devices stability improvements.

If you are a Galaxy F41 user in India, you might have already received the new security update. If you haven’t, you can check for the update manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also opt to flash the new firmware manually, but you would need to download the latest firmware file from our firmware database to do that.

Samsung had launched the Galaxy F41 in mid-2020 with Android 10-based One UI 2.5. The mid-range smartphone received the Android 11-based One UI 3 update a few months ago. It will get at least one more Android OS update in the future.
