Last week paolostyle earned the spot on our home page and this weeks winner is Asadkhan6 . Still we hoped a little bit more response, but hey, it’s only the beginning and we’re sure our readers and members will join in on the fun in the coming weeks to show everyone what they have on their home screen.

This week, the best home screen setup was from SamMobile member Asadkhan6 . We liked this home screen because of the cartoon style look. Without further ado, here’s every detail you need about this week’s Homescreen Saturday winner.

Samsung C series to sport metal design, more Galaxy C5 specs leak

We have known for a few weeks about Samsung’s new Galaxy C series of smartphones. The Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 should be leading the charge, and at least the former is currently under development with a 5.2-inch display. Today, more specs of the C5 have been revealed thanks to the Geekbench benchmark website. Also, SamMobile China has learned from its sources that the C series devices will feature thin metallic bodies, not unlike the Galaxy A8.

With the Galaxy A series having moved on to the glass and metal design that debuted on the Galaxy S6, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Galaxy C lineup taking up the mission the Galaxy A series was initially tasked with. The specs should be similar to the Galaxy A (2016) lineup – the Galaxy C5 (SM-C5000) is listed with 4GB of RAM and the octa-core Snapdragon 617 SoC (clocked at 1.5GHz). The operating system is Android 6.0.1, which is what we expect on every new device that Samsung launches in the future.

A premium design seems to be a heavy focus for the Korean giant this year, as even the new Galaxy J (2016) devices have a bit of metal in their construction. The Galaxy C series is expected to launch in May as an exclusive for the Chinese market. Hopefully, the exclusivity will not be permanent, as with the right pricing the Galaxy C lineup could fit in nicely between Samsung’s budget offerings and the high-end Galaxy A handsets.

Samsung rolls out maintenance update for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge in the UK

Earlier this week, Samsung rolled out a hefty update for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge in a few different regions, including China, India and the United States, and now the South Korean company has begun pushing out an identical upgrade — G930FXXU1APD3 and G935FXXU1APD3 — to unlocked and carrier-branded variants of the handsets in the United Kingdom.

This update transports a new feature that’s dedicated to correcting “skewed photos”, along with enhancements for the palm rejection functionality that ships on board the Galaxy S7 edge, which means that users should no longer find themselves opening up applications and placing calls when holding the device with their hand wrapped around the curved display.

Samsung has also baked Google’s latest Android security patch into the release, which is pretty ace as it positions both the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge just two weeks behind the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P in terms of security maintenance updates. Hopefully the firm will stick to this timeframe in future as it would certainly alleviate frustration for many consumers.

To see if the upgrade is ready for your device, head into Settings, followed by About Device, locate and select Software Update, then hit the Update Now button. Alternatively, you can wait until you receive a push notification prompting you to download and install the update from Samsung’s servers.
