Galaxy Note 8 garners over 250,000 pre-registrations in India

Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note in India tomorrow, and the pre-registrations for the phablet went live in the country last week. It is now being reported that the company has received over 250,000 pre-registrations for its latest high-end, S Pen-toting phablet. Samsung is rumored to bundle the DeX docking station and 100GB additional data for free with the Galaxy Note 8.

The pre-registrations for the Galaxy Note 8 are being accepted through the company’s website as well as Amazon India’s website. Over 150,000 customers have shown interest in purchasing the phablet through Amazon, with 72,000 people registering within the first 24 hours. The remaining 100,000 pre-registrations came through Samsung India’s website.

The South Korean smartphone giant was aware that the next-generation iPhones would be unveiled on September 12, but the company still went through with its plan to launch the Galaxy Note 8 in India on the same day as it was confident of its strong position in India. According to GFK’s research numbers, Samsung has around 43 percent market share in India’s smartphone segment.

The Galaxy Note 8 brings everything to the tablet that the Galaxy S8+ does, but also includes a dual-12MP camera setup with OIS for both the sensors. It also features a 6.3-inch Infinity Display, Exynos 8895 processor, 6GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, S Pen with 50ms latency, an iris scanner, dust and water resistance, Samsung Pay, and more.
