The Galaxy M30s is available at a killer price in India right now

The Galaxy M30s is available at a killer price in India right now as part of Amazon’s Great Indian Sale deals festival, which lasts from January 19 to January 22. The base variant of the Galaxy M30s with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage can be yours for Rs 12,999 at this time and the 6GB+128GB configuration can be bought for Rs 14,999, so you’re getting a Rs 1000 and Rs 2000 discount respectively off the standard price for the two variants.

While the 4GB+64GB variant is only Rs 1000 off its regular price, it’s still an excellent deal, as the M30s was already a steal (read our review) when it launched a couple of months ago. It comes with a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display, the Exynos 9611 octa-core processor, a 48MP main rear camera coupled with 8MP ultra-wide and 5MP depth sensors, a 16MP front camera, a microSD slot that supports 512GB cards, and a gigantic 6,000 mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging.

Some of these specs, like the Exynos chipset and rear camera setup, are the same as what you get on the A50s’, which starts at a considerably higher price (Rs 18,999). The M30s doesn’t get the fancy design or in-display fingerprint sensor of the A50s, but neither of those features are worth the Rs 6000 markup. Oh, and the Galaxy M30s and A50s will get the Android 10 and One UI 2.0 update in the same month (April), so that’s another reason to save money by buying the M series phone.

If you do end up buying the Galaxy M30s, Amazon will throw in Rs 500 as cashback in the form of Amazon Pay balance, as long as you pay for the order upfront instead of using the cash-on-delivery option. So, go ahead and grab one today if you’re in the market for a value-for-money budget smartphone.

Galaxy A71 pre-orders open January 20 in Indonesia with free Galaxy Buds

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A71 alongside the Galaxy A51 last month. It only held a press launch for the Galaxy A51 in Vietnam and the Galaxy A71 wasn’t showcased at the event. We would know, we were there to go hands-on with the Galaxy A51. The company said that the Galaxy A71 would hit the market in February.

It appears that Indonesia might be one of the first markets to get this device. Samsung Indonesia has officially confirmed that it will start taking pre-orders for the Galaxy A71 from January 20. There’s a sweet incentive for customers who pre-order the device, they’ll get the Galaxy Buds wireless earbuds for free.

Galaxy A71 pre-order customers get Galaxy Buds for free in Indonesia

Samsung Indonesia initially confirmed through its official Twitter account that the Galaxy A71 will be available for pre-order starting January 20 through January 27. It later confirmed through a statement provided to KompasTekno that the handset is going to be priced at Rp6,099,000, which is just under $450.

Customers in Indonesia will be able to pre-order the device through Samsung’s official store on a number of e-commerce portals like Lazada, JD.id, Shopee and more. Those who pre-order the device will receive the Galaxy Buds for free. Customers elsewhere will certainly appreciate if their local Samsung divisions offer this pre-order incentive as well. Teasers for the device recently went live in India, so it could launch there in the coming weeks.

The Galaxy A71 has a 6.7-inch Infinity-O display with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor with 6/8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It also features a 64-megapixel f/1.8 primary camera with the same 12-megapixel ultra-wide, 5-megapixel depth and 5-megapixel macro cameras as the Galaxy A51. There are only a handful of differences between the two devices which are better highlighted in our Galaxy A51 vs Galaxy A71 specs comparison.

As we’ve mentioned in our Galaxy A51 review, Samsung’s first new smartphone of the year is a very capable device and is the perfect option in its price bracket. The Galaxy A71 will appeal to a slightly more discerning customer who would be willing to pay the $100 difference between their prices for a slightly larger display, a higher resolution primary camera and a bigger battery with 25W fast charging. Samsung also has a 5G variant of the Galaxy A71 in the pipeline and we hear that it may also be made available in the United States.

Expect Samsung to gradually make the Galaxy A71 available in more markets across the globe next month. We’ll have a review up for you once the handset drops by our office.

Leaked Galaxy S20 Ultra camera image mentions 100x zoom

The Galaxy S20 leaks are picking up the pace as we count down the days to Samsung’s next Unpacked event. Much is already known about the new flagship series and the previously leaked CAD renders have also given us a general idea of what it may look like.

There has been a lot of talk about the new lineup’s camera, particularly the setup on the Galaxy S20 Ultra, which will be the top-of-the-line model. A new image has been leaked online which apparently shows what the camera setup is going to look like on the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

Galaxy S20 Ultra camera to boast 100x digital zoom

The Galaxy S20 Ultra specs that have been leaked so far suggest that this device will be an absolute beast. It’s expected to feature a 6.9-inch 120Hz Infinity-O display with the Exynos 990 processor and at least 12GB of RAM. Samsung is going all out in the camera department for this device as well.

The camera specs include the new 108-megapixel primary camera coupled with a 48-megapixel telephoto and 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. Samsung is going to use a periscope tech to allow for higher optical magnification on this series. However, the Galaxy S20 Ultra is said to be the only one in the series to offer an impressive 10x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.

That’s what the leaked image of the Galaxy S20 Ultra camera setup suggests as well. We can see the words “100X” placed next to the periscope module, the “marketing name of the zoom” placeholder suggests that Samsung is going to have a fancy term for this bonkers digital zoom. We reported two months ago that Samsung has filed a trademark for the term “Space Zoom,” perhaps it will be utilized for this device.

Is the Galaxy S20 Ultra shaping up to be a device that you’d like to spend your hard-earned money on? Share your thoughts with us by dropping a comment down below.
