Samsung said at the company’s Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 announcement last month that the company is “betting big” on larger screens. The same can be said for the Korean manufacturer’s Tizen-powered smartphones.
The Samsung Z3 has leaked in new photos, showing the new Z3’s display size against the Z1 (no Z2, for those who are wondering). The Z3 appears to be taller and wider than its predecessor, and we know for a fact that the display will certainly be wider because the Z3 features a 5-inch, Super AMOLED display, as opposed to the 4-inch display on the Z1. The 5-inch display on the Z3 is actually slightly wider than the 4.8-inch Galaxy S3, which started Samsung’s meteoric rise to the top of the Android world. Apart from that, the user interface looks rather similar to that of the Z1, so Tizen OS users won’t see much of a departure from Samsung’s UI here.
Apart from the Tizen-powered Z3, an FCC listing shows that the Z3 will feature an HD resolution (1280 x 720p), a 1.3Ghz, quad-core Spreadtrum SC7730S processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 5MP front camera, 8MP back camera, and two SIM card slots. Finally, the Z3 will have a 2,600mAh battery and run Tizen 3.0. Samsung intends for this device to hit the mass market in India, Bangladesh, and Nepal, for now at least.
