Samsung dominates high-end projector market in the US

Samsung unveiled its high-end ‘The Premier’ projector about a year ago, and it hit shelves in the United States shortly after. It boasts of several high-end features, such as the ability to play 4K HDR10+ content, something that no other product on the market can do. Hence, it comes as no surprise that it ranked first in the ‘premium’ projector category in the United States

The information comes from a blog post on Samsung’s website, which states that Samsung has a 27.4% market share in the United States. It is miles ahead of the competition and represents a 44% growth over the last year, indicating that more people are buying up Samsung’s ultra-short-throw projectors, despite their prohibitively high prices, which start at $3,500.

Furthermore, ‘The Premier’ has also been a massive hit among film industry professionals who lauded it for its feature set. Then again, the ultra-short-throw projector market is relatively niche and consists of enthusiast-grade products, so the competition isn’t as tight compared to more affordable segments.

Sung Il-Kyung, the vice president of Samsung Electronics’ video display division says that the company has more projectors in the pipeline following The Premier’s success, but neglected to divulge any specifics.

Samsung Internet gets bottom address bar layout option with latest beta update

Samsung has released a new beta version of its web browser, and it brings a new feature that lets you customize the position of the address bar. This change makes it easier for users to access the frequently-used address bar. This feature could be released to the stable version of Samsung Internet in the coming weeks.

The new Address bar position feature is situated in the Layout and menu section of Samsung Internet Beta’s Settings menu. You can choose between the top and bottom positions for the address bar and even hide the status bar. Selecting the bottom position will bring the address bar, along with the bookmark and refresh buttons, within easier reach of your fingers. This new layout option is similar to what Apple did with the new version of Safari.

Samsung has also added a Switch to secure connection (HTTPS) feature in the Labs section of its web browser. The company also added a feature that lets you stop small pixel-based user tracking across the web. The changelog also mentions that the URL bar now offers an improved search experience, thanks to “superior and well-organized search suggestions“.

Have you changed the address bar position on the Samsung Internet Beta on your Galaxy device yet? Which address bar position do you like? Let us know in the comments section below.
