Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S7 and the S7 edge on February 21 during its Unpacked 2016 event, but there was no information regarding their launch in India. Now, Samsung has sent out press invites for the launch event of the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge in India. According to the invite, the India’s largest smartphone brand will launch its flagship smartphones in the country on March 8 during an event in New Delhi. Many expect these smartphones to go in sale in the country on March 11 along with 59 other markets around the world.
The Galaxy S7 comes with a 5.1-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, while the Galaxy S7 features a 5.5-inch curved Super AMOLED display with QHD resolution. Both these devices sport an Exynos 8890 processor (unlike in the US and in China where they come with Snapdragon 820 SoCs), 4GB RAM, 32/64GB internal storage, a microSD card slot, IP68 water- and dust-resistance, and fingerprint sensors. There’s a 12-megapixel camera with dual-pixel phase-detection autofocus, OIS, and 4K video recording on the rear, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Galaxy S7 comes equipped with a 3,000 mAh battery, while the Galaxy S7 edge comes with a massive 3,600 mAh battery. Both these smartphones also feature fast wired as well as fast wireless charging. The pricing of both these smartphones is expected to be same as the launch prices of their predecessors. However, we will let you know their India-specific price tags and availability details on Tuesday.
