Rumor: Galaxy S7 edge and edge Plus variants could launch at the same time

With all the hype Samsung has created around curved displays this year, it’s a surefire guarantee that the Galaxy S7 will also come in a variant that features a curved screen. It was recently rumored that Samsung might not release a regular flat screen model and simply launch the curved screen variant worldwide, and the source of that rumor is now suggesting that the Galaxy S7 will come in two different screen sizes at the same time.

Both variants, despite the varying screen sizes, will have a curved display according to Samsung Viet. It doesn’t exactly sound far-fetched, and it would mean that both a standard and a super-sized Plus variant would come out at the same time. It’s likely to raise an outcry from Samsung fans about the company following in Apple’s footsteps even more seriously next year, but for Samsung it would certainly be a good move, especially since launching a Galaxy S7 Edge Plus in early 2016 would allow it to concentrate on the Galaxy Note 6 during the latter half of the year.

Our own insiders haven’t said anything to support this rumor, and while we aren’t that far away from the rumored January launch of the Galaxy S7, a lot of things can change by the time the phone is ready for release. What do you think about Samsung launching an edge and edge Plus variant of the Galaxy S7 at the same time?

New Samsung Galaxy J3 model spotted on Zauba and GFXBench

Samsung Galaxy J3′s release might not be too far because the device was just spotted on GFXBench and Zauba under the model number SM-J320 and it seems to be different than the SM-J3109 which we spotted previously in that it doesn’t feature LTE. It’s interesting to see the Galaxy J3 being spotted so early considering that its predecessor’s launch wasn’t too long ago. SM-J320 has a bigger screen than the Galaxy J2 (5-inch as opposed to 4.7-inch).

This device is a certain improvement over its predecessor and seeing it listed on Zauba and GFXBench means that it will be outed soon, and it could be available in two different variants. When do you think we will see this device?

Galaxy S6 edge+ Ant-Man edition rumored

Samsung and Marvel have a history of working together, most recently the two joined forces to create the exclusive Galaxy S6 Iron Man Edition. Such partnerships have also provided Samsung with screen time in Marvel’s big budget superhero movies, clearly it’s an arrangement that works for both companies. According to a new rumor out of China the two might be collaborating once again, this time on an Ant-Man edition of the Galaxy S6 edge+.

There aren’t a lot of details available as yet about the Galaxy S6 edge+ × Ant-Man, but the rumor out of China claims that it’s going to happen, apparently it’s going to have Ant-Man’s helmet on the back of the Galaxy S6 edge+ and a unique color scheme to go along with it. If it does see the light of day it’s most likely going to be a limited run device like the Galaxy S6 Iron Man Edition, expect it to cost a bit more than what you’d normally pay for this handset. There’s no confirmation as yet from either Samsung or Marvel that they’re working on an Ant-Man edition of the Galaxy S6 edge+ so all fans can do at this point is keep their fingers crossed.

Samsung Galaxy On5 and Galaxy On7 officially launched

Over the past few weeks a lot of information has come out concerning the Galaxy Grand On and Galaxy Mega On, Samsung has now officially launched these devices as the Galaxy On5 and the Galaxy On7. These are meant to be budget smartphones with respectable specifications and a sleek design to offer the complete package at a competitive price.

As we had previously reported the Galaxy On7 and the Galaxy On5 feature 5.5-inch and 5.0-inch Super AMOLED display respectively, Under the hood there’s an Exynos 3475 processor with 1.5GB RAM, an 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front camera with f/2.1 and f/2.2 apertures, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and 8GB of internal storage with support for microSD cards. The Galaxy On7 has a 3000mAh battery and support for China’s 4G FDD LTE standard, it comes in at 151.8 x 77.5 x 8.2mm weighing 172g. Samsung Milk Music is heading to China with these new handsets, it comes pre-installed and will provide users with access to countless online radio stations for free.

Bloatware has always been an issue on Samsung devices, consumers don’t particularly like bloatware because it takes up too much of the precious internal storage, Samsung was recently sued by a committee to protect consumer rights in Shanghai, China because it didn’t allow users to remove pre-installed apps. The product page for the Galaxy On7 and the Galaxy On5 on Samsung China’s website now details precisely how much space each individual pre-installed app takes, and since the company now allows users in China to remove these apps, users can easily which of these apps takes up the most space and then decide whether or not they want to delete it. Pricing for these handsets has not been immediately confirmed, they’re expected to be launched in other markets outside of China in the near future.
