Welcome to the latest edition of Wallpaper Wednesday. This week, we’re highlighting a total of five backgrounds featuring landscapes. All of the images are available in a suitable resolution for the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ and just about any other smartphone on the market.

If any of the following images float your boat and you want to download and set one as your wallpaper, simply tap on the photo to maximise it, then click and hold to save it. Once the picture is stored locally, open up Settings, locate and select Wallpaper, then just press the image to set it as your background.

Samsung preparing a Galaxy S8 Oreo beta test program

Development on Android 8.0 Oreo for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ has already started, and it looks like we may see the company launch a beta program for the Oreo update soon. We’ve come across newer Oreo firmware versions for both devices: G950FXXE1ZQI7 and G955FXXU1ZQI7. See the letter ‘Z’ in the firmware version? Well, Samsung uses the letter Z for test firmware, and it was also seen on the beta Nougat releases for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge last year.

That’s all the info we have right now, so there’s no telling exactly when the first Galaxy S8 Oreo beta update will hit and what markets it will be made available in. With Oreo, Google has made the necessary changes in the form of Project Treble to help manufacturers release major software updates quicker than was possible before. But, Samsung’s Android skin is among the heaviest out there in terms of features and overall customization, so it remains to be seen if Project Treble will truly be useful as far as Oreo for Samsung devices is concerned. However, given Samsung is now concurrently releasing software updates for its 2017 flagships across many countries, we should see the same happen with Oreo.

Naturally, the Galaxy Note 8 will also be receiving the Oreo update, although the Galaxy S8 is no doubt going to be first in line. We’ll let you know once the Oreo beta program for the Galaxy S8 begins; if you haven’t already, don’t forget to check out regularly updated list of Samsung devices that should be getting an update to Android 8.0 Oreo.

Yubuy’s app allows Samsung TV owners in Portugal to shop online on the big screen

T-commerce might a new term for most of you; it’s e-commerce for TVs. Samsung smart TV owners in Portugal can now use Yubuy’s app to shop online from their home using the big screen. Fast Yubuy is a Portugal firm that has an expertise in T-commerce, and it has partnered with Samsung to make a cloud-based online shopping app for Tizen-based TVs. The company claims that it aims to bring the most convenient way to shop from a distance.

Yubuy has currently partnered with 21 national and international brands and stores. Users can shop for products and services from A Loja em Casa, Arcádia Chocolates, Bliss Natura, Cinemundo, DeltaQ, Garrafeira Nacional, KIA, Lavazza, LeYa OnLine, noMenu, Odisseias, Ornimundo, PAEZ, Pizza Hut, Prozis, Querido Mudei a Casa Obras, Sport Lisboa e Benfica, Sporting Clube de Portugal, Sushi em tua casa, and Telepizza e TOMTOM.

If you were wondering as to how consumers would pay from their TVs, Yubuy offers cash on delivery, credit card, electronic payments, and MB Way options for payments. Miguel Carvalho, CEO of Yubuy, said, ”Partnering with Samsung was crucial to achieving our goal of implementing and operating the T-commerce platform in the domestic market. Now Smart TV consumers can meet their needs for purchasing goods and services in a simple and very convenient way through the Yubuy application.“

How to move apps to the SD card on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8

Samsung has long enabled users to move apps to external storage. We published a detailed guide on how to move apps to the SD card on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. That guide was required because the procedure was changed slightly for devices on Marshmallow.

We know many of you will be wondering how you can move apps to SD card on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8. It’s possible to do that on both flagships but again, the procedure is slightly different for these Nougat-powered handsets. This procedure holds true for 2017 devices like the current Galaxy A and Galaxy J series handsets as well.

The guide below will teach you how to move apps to SD card on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8. Do keep in mind that individual apps have to support moving to external storage. Apps that don’t enable the option can’t be moved to the microSD card.

How to move apps to SD card on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8

Step 1: Press and hold an app icon. Tap on App info when the menu pops up.

Step 2: Tap on Storage to bring up the detailed information.

Step 3: Tap on Change in order to move the app.

Step 4: Select SD card as the new storage location.

Step 5: Wait as the app and its data is exported to the external storage. It can take a few moments. The app can’t be used while it’s being exported.

The App info menu can also be accessed via the Settings app but this method is faster. That’s it. That’s all you need to do in order to move apps to SD card on Galaxy S8.

Bear in mind that some of the exported app’s data will continue to take up space on the internal storage. It’s an Android thing, can’t be helped. Exported apps might stop working if the SD card is taken out.

Don’t forget to move the apps back to the internal storage if you’re swapping SD cards. Repeat the steps mentioned above to export them back once you’ve swapped the cards.

You will soon be able to buy the Pink Galaxy S8 in Europe

Customers didn’t have the option to buy the Pink Galaxy S8 in Europe but that’s going to change soon. A retailer in the Netherlands has confirmed that the Pink Galaxy S8 is going to be released in Europe officially. The handset will be sold in this color option across Europe in the near future.

Samsung launched the Pink variant of the Galaxy S8+ in Taiwan initially back in June. The company confirmed last month that it will launch the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ with this color option in Mexico as well.

It’s the same Galaxy S8 that we all know and love. Nothing else is different about this variant with the paint job being the obvious exception.

A listing for this particular variant of the Galaxy S8 was spotted earlier today at the Dutch online retailer Belsimpel. The retailer doesn’t have a listing for the Galaxy S8+ so it’s unclear if it will be making its way to Europe.

Belsimpel has since confirmed that this is the Dutch model and not one that has been imported. It will be released in the Netherlands and across Europe soon. The retailer is allowing users to reserve a unit now though it hasn’t confirmed when shipments will begin.
