The Galaxy S6 and S6 edge are a little over a week away from their worldwide release, though we think that T-Mobile pre-order customers are the fortunate ones who are getting their new Samsung smartphones already. The rest of the world is still waiting, but pricing for the new devices keep coming in.
This time, it’s Australia, Malaysia, and South Africa whose Galaxy S6 pricing is now available. CNET Australia reports that the Galaxy S6 will cost $999 AUS (32GB), $1,149 (64GB), and $1,299 (128GB). The Galaxy S6 edge will cost $1,149 AUS (32GB), $1,299 (64GB), and $1,449 (128GB).
Malaysia consumers have something extra special to anticipate with the launch of Samsung’s newest devices in the country. Lowyat reports that the Galaxy S6 will cost RM2,599 and the S6 edge will retail for RM3,099. These prices include the Goods and Services Tax (or GST), so consumers need not worry about paying RM155.94 and RM185.94 as an additional charge for the tax. Samsung Electronics Malaysia has said that the Galaxy A series, Galaxy Note 4, and other budget-friendly Galaxy models will see the GST added as an additional charge, however.
South Africa has also announced its Galaxy S6 and S6 edge pricing. The regular GS6 will retail for Sh74,999 with only the 32GB version available, while the Galaxy S6 edge will retail for Sh89,999 with only the 64GB version available. Neither the Galaxy S6 nor the S6 edge in the country will offer a 128GB memory storage version for either device. Both devices will come with a free phone cover and two-year manufacturer warranty, but there will be no accidental damage from handling (ADH) coverage with the S6 – a new policy that cancels the accidental damage protection users received with the Galaxy S4 in 2013.
