You can’t turn off the backlit capacitive buttons for Back and Recent Apps on the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge since the devices don’t offer that option, even if the screen is dim the capacitive buttons are bright as always. They can really be a nuisance particularly if you’re using the handset in the dark because you can turn the brightness all the way down but can’t do that for the capacitive buttons, not to mention the fact that precious battery life is spent on lighting them up. There is now a way to fix this.
There’s an app available on the Google Play Store called Galaxy Button Lights, it’s a very simple app that lets you choose how long the capacitive buttons on the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge should stay lit. It lets you choose a time duration, choose whether you would like the buttons to be always on when the screen is on or if you’d rather have them stay always off. The developer says that the app might work on recent devices like the Galaxy Note 4 but it has only really been tested on the Galaxy S6. You can download Galaxy Button Lights for free from the Google Play Store.
