Tizen Z1 update for India brings new WhatsApp shortcut, language support

Samsung Z1 users can’t seem to get enough updates, with Samsung working overtime to roll out new updates to its Tizen devices. Tizen has been in the works for a long time and required a few delays before arriving on the market, but Samsung wants Tizen to make a good impression. While it could be said that Samsung Galaxy updates are slow due to the Korean manufacturer’s lack of control over Android, Tizen is completely under Samsung’s control and provides the company a chance to show how well it performs when controlling the entire user experience.

Today’s update brings the Tizen Z1 to build number Z130HDDU0BOD7, although the size is small indeed (17.3MB in size). While Samsung provides a small number of bug fixes here (as to be expected), the company’s Z1 update also provides an official WhatsApp application shortcut and now supports 14 languages. In order to receive the official WhatsApp shortcut, however, you’ll be prompted to download the new WhatsApp application – after which, the old WhatsApp application “will be deactivated,” Samsung’s update says.

As of now, the update is only available for India customers, so Bangladesh customers will have to wait. With Samsung preparing to bring Tizen worldwide to countries outside of India and Bangladesh, the Z1’s quick update schedule is a very good sign indeed.
