It has been almost a year since the Samsung NX Mini was launched so the time is ripe for a successor and it appears that the company does have one up its sleeve. The Samsung NX Mini 2 has been leaked today, product pictures of this mirrorless camera as well as its specifications have appeared online with support for 4K video recording being one of the main features of the NX Mini 2.
The accompanying report says that the NX Mini 2 has a 9mm f3.5 lens and the same 20.5-megapixel sensor as the original NX Mini with a more powerful processor which enables 4K video recording at 24 frames-per-second. Instead of the LCD display on the predecessor the NX Mini 2 has a Super AMOLED display, there’s also a retractable flash while the external flash connector appears to have been removed. The DirectLink button is gone while the on/off button has been moved to the back beside the new flash button.
Samsung’s original NX Mini camera had a 2330 mAh battery but this one has a smaller 1820mAh battery which will be good for around 400 still shots, the camera also has an interchangeable front so users have the ability to customize its look. Samsung has not officially announced the NX Mini 2 but when it does arrive the mirrorless camera is expected to cost around 449 euro.
