AT&T has released a new software update for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge today, unfortunately the update is not Android 5.1.1 which is certainly what most users have been looking forward to. It merely changes the build number from OE2 to OF3 and doesn’t bring the devices up from their existing version of Android, version 5.0.2. AT&T is rolling out the update for both devices and it comes in at around 200MB so you better be hooked up to a Wi-Fi network before downloading it.
The official changelog from AT&T for both devices mentions Find My Mobile and Reactivation Lock enhancements as well as improvements to Android OS security, that’s all there is to this update. It’s rolling out over-the-air today and should go live for all users across the United States very soon. AT&T subscribers can just be grateful that it’s not like that update Verizon released yesterday for the Galaxy Note 4 that weighs 1GB and isn’t Android 5.1.
