Galaxy J2 enters India for research and devleopment

We first reported about the Galaxy J2′s existence close to two months ago and since then have exclusively revealed the device’s specifications, this handset will be the latest addition to Samsung’s Galaxy J series includes devices like the Galaxy J1 and the Galaxy J1 4G. Samsung has not yet revealed when this handset will arrive but it appears that India might be the first market where it’s released, which is why it won’t be surprising to see that the company imported a couple of units of the Galaxy J2 (SM-J200) in India for the purpose of research and development. Import data lists the price of the handset at INR 12,948 or $199.

The Galaxy J2 is going to have a 4.5-inch TFT LCD display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution, under the hood there will be an Exynos 3475 SoC with a 1.2GHz 32-bit processor coupled with 1.5GB RAM. The handset will measure 136 mm tall, 69 mm wide, and 8.3 mm thin. There’s 8GB internal storage, microSD card support, 5-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front camera, a 2,000mAh battery and Android 5.1.1 pre-installed. No word as yet from Samsung on the release date of this handset and the markets in which it will be offered.
