Samsung announces the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ for its home market

Samsung has announced the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ for South Korea along with details on the phones’ pricing. The Galaxy Note 5 will be sold for 899,800 won and 965,800 won for the 32GB and 64GB variants (in White Pearl, Black Sapphire and Gold Platinum), while the Galaxy S6 edge+ will be available for 939,400 won (in Black Sapphire and Gold Platinum.) The S6 edge+ will only get a 32GB variant, suggesting Samsung is hoping the Note 5 will be more popular in the country.

The Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ are 5.7-inch phablets with hardware including a Quad HD display, Exynos 7420 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel rear camera, fingerprint sensor, and a 3,000 mAh battery that supports fast charging both via USB and wireless charging. Both devices run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box, with the Note 5 toting features like the ability to start writing with the S Pen stylus without waking up the screen.

Samsung Pay is set to go live in South Korea today, so the two devices should be available for sale within the week.
