Samsung BRITECELL trademark possibly confirms large camera sensor for the Galaxy S7

Over the past week or so there have been conflicting reports about the camera that Samsung is going to use for the Galaxy S7. Some believe it’s going to be a 20-megapixel ISOCELL camera while it was even rumored at one point that Samsung was in talks with Sony for the Xperia Z5′s camera. It was reported yesterday that perhaps the company will go with a 12-megapixel camera for the Galaxy S7 that has a large 1/2-inch sensor, the camera would have larger pixels and the ability to capture significantly more light and thus be able to take much better photos.

Samsung has not confirmed anything about the Galaxy S7 just yet but a new trademark application filed late last month has been discovered today, Samsung has trademarked BRITECELL, which might very well confirm the possibility that the Galaxy S7 does indeed have a camera with a large sensor. Even the description reads “image sensor for mobile phones.” It’s expected that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S7 in January next year but we’ll certainly be hearing more about the device before the official announcement is made.
