Samsung Galaxy J1 mini (SM-J105F) gets Bluetooth certification

Samsung’s next unnecessary budget smartphone, the Galaxy J1 mini (SM-J105F), should soon be making an official appearance, as the device has been certified by the Bluetooth SIG. We didn’t like the Galaxy J1 and thought it was an utterly poor device even for first time smartphone users, but as leaked specs have shown us, the Galaxy J1 mini will bring a few upgrades on both the hardware and software front.

The Galaxy J1 mini is expected to feature a 4.3-inch WVGA display, a quad-core Spreadtrum SC8830 processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 5-megapixel rear camera. Also included is 8GB of internal storage, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The front camera is actually a downgrade here, as the 2 MP front shooter on the Galaxy J1 was perhaps its only saving grace. Dual SIM slots will be present as well, as evident by the model number of the device certified.

The Galaxy J1 mini should be priced extremely low like the Galaxy J1, and we will be sure to know once it goes official. India is likely to be the first market to see the J1 mini go on sale, followed by a couple of other markets where low-cost smartphones are in high demand.
