Samsung has confirmed today that for the first time ever it’s going to showcase three Creative Lab (C-Lab) projects at CES 2016. C-Lab is one of Samsung’s innovation programs that enables the company’s employees to nurture their own creative business ideas. The projects that will be showcased at CES 2016 include WELT – which is a healthcare belt that lets people manage their waist size by measuring daily habits and behaviors, a hand-motion controller for mobile VR devices called rink and TipTalk – a new user experience which allows users to hear sounds transmitted through their own body.
C-Lab was founded back in 2012 and has already supported more than 100 projects initiated by Samsung employees. 70 of these projects have already been completed while about 40 are being further developed by Samsung’s business units. in 2015 nine projects were identified as having a particularly high potential for success, Samsung has helped those teams launch full-fledged external startups. WELT, rink, and TipTalk will be demonstrated at the Consumer Electronics Show 2016 in Las Vegas early next month.
