Samsung launches the Galaxy Note 5 Dual SIM in India

Soon after announcing its plans to launch the dual SIM variant of the Galaxy Note 5 in India, Samsung has made the device available in the country though its official online store. Indian consumers can purchase the 32GB model of the Galaxy Note 5 Dual SIM for Rs. 51,400 (around $760) in black, silver and gold, with Samsung offering credit card deals like it does on all flagships in the country. The 64GB version isn’t available yet, but it should go up for sale in the coming days.

Samsung is somewhat late to the market with the dual SIM Note 5, as companies like Sony and LG have been offering their flagships with dual SIM slots as the default model for some time now. But better late than never is probably what the Korean giant is thinking, and given the popularity of dual SIM devices in India, it’s good to see Samsung is finally taking the steps to cater to consumers who want a top-of-the-line smartphone with the ability to power two SIM cards.

The specs of the dual SIM Galaxy Note 5 remain the same as the regular variant. The phone comes with a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, an Exynos 7420 processor, 4GB of RAM, a fingerprint sensor, and a 16-megapixel rear camera. There’s also a 5-megapixel front camera, 4G LTE connectivity, heart rate scanner, and a 3,000 mAh battery. It runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box, and is set to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow sometime this year.
