Samsung has today announced that it will be launching Samsung Pay in China next month. It will then go on to release the payment platform in Australia, Brazil, Singapore, Spain and the United Kingdom before the year’s out. Unfortunately, the company failed to supply a specific timeframe for the rollout, but it did reveal that it is planning to introduce functionality in Canada, after all.
The South Korean company also gave us a little insight into the statistics of the service by boasting that it has handled over $500-million in transactions from around 5-million users who registered to use the payment gateway during its first six months of existence. These are pretty astonishing figures when you take into account that the platform is currently only available in two countries — South Korea and the United States.
